Going over to a London school for a year abroad. I was wondering what the drug situation is like over there? I read at NORML that they have basically decriminalized in London. Is this true? Also, what is the price and availability on most drugs (herb, e, acid, mushies, coke)? How much is an 1/8 of herb and what kind of quality is it usually? Are there areas in London like Greenwich Village where you'll find people on the street dealing and "head shops" to buy smoking accessories? Thanks.

Where are you coming to London from? Drugs have definately not been decriminalised here! Get caught by the police and they'll probably not be too happy. With regards to prices. E is anywhere from £2 to £10 depending on where you buy. Clubs are the worst place to get it. Acid is really hard to find because there isn't that big a demand over here. Probably cause the pills are so cheap. Weed is about £10 and 1/8th but you can get it cheaper. Speed is very cheap but not always good quality. Ketamine i'm not too sure about but not very expensive (gram for £7-10). Coke is £50 for a gram if you like that sort of thing.
As for finding weed on the street. Chances are they'll sell you a bag of herbs or something equally shit. Find a dealer if you can.

Basicaly I'll second everything housefreak said, weed normaly £10, skunk £20, hash (shite) £15 a quarter. But don't expect to get any of those prices unless you get yourself a dealer. It's easy enough to get weed/coke/crack/pills in brixton on the steets, infact you'll probably be harased into buying something, but you'll more likely get robbed or conned. If your totally fucked you can always catch a train down to Brighton and give the beach a search if you get bunked too much in London. I don't want to sound all doom and gloom because if you know the right people stuff is very easy to get. Just make friends with druggie looking people in your school/clubs/etc/etc.

i came to the uk to finish school myself... talk about a culture shock. everyone above is pretty on the ball, as for quality, i found that some pills are mediocre (hence the british hard house mentalists who routinely drop 8upwards) but occasionally you'll get mindblowing ones... keep an eye out for pure white triangular mitsis... mmm, very fucked i was! skunk (buds) tends to be pretty good quality if you find a good person... most comes from the 'dam, so a lot of fine smoke out there. acid good, usually in liquid form. expect to pay fifty pounds for fifty ml. put one drop in a sugar cube and robert's your father's brother. special k, do try and be careful, there are enough fuckups out there. if it's your thing go for it but try to avoid it in clubs. tenner a g.

I'll be attending LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science) for the whole year. There are two ways I look at this, either most people will be dorky and will be hard to find drug friends, or many will be closet, rich boy cokeheads. We'll have to wait and see. Oh yeah, are most people in clubs f-ed up on all sorts of drugs (like here in NYC) or are most getting blitzed on Guinness and Bass?
