Subscriptions and gmail-warnings

Hello BL-Team,

gmail claims that subscription mails are possibly not send from [email protected], though it seems legit. Why is this?

Probably because gmail address doesn't send the message, the message just has that as the 'from' field.

For reasons that aren't clear to me (possibly to do with the problems of setting up access to domain email), there was a historical decision made to use gmail as the return address for emails made by system.

Not ideal. Problematic in a number of ways. Will pick up as an issue to explore how to rectify.
