I'm asking the fucking questions!
Just wondering how I subscribe to a thread using the mobile version. Do I have to switch between versions to do this?

Oh and what is a social group and why can't I do it? Is it a mod thing? Lol.
I just started using BL mobile about an hour ago..

Cheers, nolys

I have never used the mobile version of BL so I'm afraid I cant help you there, but where are you seeing "social group"? I'm not familiar with that... theres 'friends' lists, is that what you are referring to?

Social group is a link option under User CP in the 'mobile' skin. Probably just an optional but disabled feature that is still showing up OP. Nothing to worry about and I get the same error as you.

After a quick skim through I'd say there is no way to directly subscribe to a thread in the mobile version. You can adjust your "default subscription settings" option in UserCP in a full GUI to anything other than "do no subscribe" and you will automatically be subscribed to any thread you post in but I think that is your only real option.

edit:
Also fizzle_castro, I saw you had posted in here after I had already read it but didn't have time to jump into mobile and was like I will be so impressed if our new admin knows the answer to this one ;)

^I will find the answer! I may not know yet, but I will! :)

I tried that "social groups" thing, and got an error message too, so I am assuming amapola is correct in that it was something that was started and just never finished. :)

I just noticed this myself the other day.

Seems subscribing on the mobile skin is either unavailable with this version of vb or is disabled to enhance browsing capabilities. I would need to look further into this to be certain though.

Social groups is a disabled feature, assumably because there is no real requirement for it.

Code:
http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/subscription.php?do=addsubscription&t=569879

http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/subscription.php?do=doaddsubscription&threadid=569879&emailupdate=0&folderid=0
I think that the first link will take you to the subscribe to this thread page and that the second one will add it without any fanfare. You'll have to form this manually though. With thread id on the end it wouldn't be too much of hassle as it is already on the end in your address bar.

Just have the string http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/subscription.php?do=addsubscription& saved somewhere easily accessible. Then when needed copy it the clipboard and in the thread you want to subscribe to select all the text up to "t=12345" and paste over it.

Ok thanks a lot for the input guys! I'm enjoying the mobile version a lot here, far easier and faster to browse, apart from that one slight niggle of subscribing because when I hit full website to subscribe it brings me back to the homepage :/

Thanks

i'm pretty sure this is the answer. set that up in full mode first, then switch to mobile skin, and if you reply to a thread thereafter it should/might auto-subscribe you to that thread. doesn't seem to be a way of manually subscribing to threads within the mobile skin atm.

forget 'social groups'; that's not even switched on so i'm surprised you can even see it.

Tapatalk isn't implemented at this time on Bluelight but is a viable possibility in the future after some upgrades. As I understand it tapatalk requires a server side plugin to be functional for users.
