Subs increasing tolerates to other opiates?

Hi. Long time no post. Sorry to be away from the community for so long guys. College has kept me busy. My simple question. Over the last two months I've been taking suboxone. Only once or twice a week in 16-24mg doses. I took my usual dose of Vicodin 60mg with 3 Xanax today. I hardly felt anything. Had about 30 mins of euphoria and the rest was that "coming down" feeling where you feel kinda good but only in brief waves. I thought suboxone and naloxone would've lowered my tolly. Could it have raised it? Last time I took 24mg of sub was Tuesday of last week. Could it still be in my system and preventing my receptors from taking in opiates? Thanks for any info guys.

Yes it is raising your tolerance significantly if hydrocodone is your DOC & although you are right about it being able to block other opiates this is not the reason in your case. After 72 hrs abstinence from bupe most if not all bupe should have left your system.

Also it should be said that your dosage of suboxone is way out of line with your dosage of hydrocodone. Bupe is a very powerful opiate, in fact I believe the only opiate that has a higher binding affinity at the receptors is fentanyl. So 24mg of bupe is equal to around 300mg of hydrocodone at the lower end of the known conversions.

IMHO if you ever want a shot of getting off the opiates stay far away from subs & only use it at very low dosages if you have to use subs. For some perspective I was shooting around 10 bags of quality dope just to stave off sickness for a day before I went on subs. When I started subs 8mg actually gave me a slight buzz & held me for more than 24hrs, very potent stuff.
 
Ok thanks. I was very curious about that. And I know the dosage between the two is off by a mile but it's been a long time since I've been able to get any norcos. I always took 6 with 1.5mg Xanax and had a blast. I only have 8 left and 4 .5 Xanax. I guess I'll down that tonight before I go to bed so I'm not completely wasting them lol. Thanks buddy :)

Yeah that much sub is fucking your tolerance way up! I shoot heroin and only need 2mg of sub a day to stay strait. Your not getting any more out of it by taking so much.
 
Yea it's def still on your receptors. Your tolerance isn't getting higher tho. It's gonna take 4 days to come down from that much sub at least enough to feel the hydros.
 
@Hemptress, what is your thinking behind saying it will not raise his tolerance? Bupe is many times stronger than hydrocodone there is no possible way using it 2 times weekly would not raise tolerance. Especially at the high doses he is claiming.
 
Yeah that much sub will destroy your tolerance. There's really no need to take that high of a dose, because subs don't really make you feel a better buzz with higher and higher doses. It doesn't act like other opioids in that sense, so just keep that in mind. Most people report they actually get a better buzz at small doses (<2mg).
