Suboxone Withdrawl

I'm curious on getting experiences from my fellow BLers on how long it takes to get addicted to suboxone and how long the withdrawls will last. I'm currently taking 8mg's a day, and have been taking suboxone for the past 3 months, I started with 16 mg a day but cut down after three weeks to 8mg a day. Is there a chance that if i Stop now I can be free of bad wd's because i've had experience of wd from a 240 mg a day 3 year oxy habit, and that was FUCKING AWFUL, which is why I am on suboxone maintainance currently. I'm quite content with my 8 mg a day dosing, and am reluctant to cut down, because I enjoy the buzz I get, especially if I skip a day before.. But anyway I'm more curious as to what the timeline is for when you start becoming physically dependant and the dose that it occurs at, and Severity of withdrawls. I'm in a bind.

If I start to taper now, will I avoid the withdrawls with small amounts of benzo's?

Much Love to my Fellow Brothers and Sisters who know the Struggle <3

I've been on sub for the same amount of time, however I onlg take 2-3mg in a 24hr period....I haven't taken ne for a week, I decided to party for the wknd, but I didn't w/d that bad from a 2mg a day dose.....I hear its harder though once you get lower in dose....

I did use a few mgs of benzos last week though, sparingly and to help sleep

I definately think I could get by on 2-3 mg's everyday but it's hard for me to sacrifice the buzz I get from the 8 mg's. Whenever I think I might use opiates, I'll take off 2 to 3 days, and hardly withdrawl. I really wish my tolerance to opiates went down, but since I've been on the subs for the past couple months, my tolerance hasn't changed at all.

That would be fucking ill if scientists orchestrated a pill that completely wipes out tolerances in your brain chemistry. I think that would eliminate physical dependency quite a bit too. We can only dream. Good Luck on your Opiate Travels

I'm surprised you can catch any sort of buzz from Suboxone if you were taking 240mg of oxy. I've never gotten a buzz, not even when I first took it. I get a lift in my mood but that's it.

Its hard to tell when exactly someone is going to become dependent but if you stopped for 3 days and felt nothing then chances are you won't suffer much. Withdrawals from Suboxone usually last 7 or so days.

I was amazed that I caught get a buzz of 2mg suboxone having been on 200mg morphine a day, it's a strong drug. Although it was nothing compared to full agonists obviously.

I was very surprised too, now that I have been on it for about 2 months, the buzz is very miniscule and don't last as long as they used to, but I find myself just wanting to take more and more, and even if I take an extra 8mgs I can hardly notice it, yet I still want more and more. I guess it's my opiate fiend mind, because I was hardly ever satisifed with dosing. But suboxone "therapy" or "maintainance" really hasn't helped me get off opiates, just made me fiend out for a different opioid.

I've never had the desire to take more Suboxone. And I'm a "fiend". I have the desire to take more than prescribed of just about any other controlled substance in the world. Any drug that can be abused including Ambien...not with Suboxone. Its never been a drug I derive "pleasure" from. I take it everyday and have no desire to take anymore than my 4mg dose. Taking more would do absolutely nothing. I could take 24mg and wouldn't get any additional effects. Beside, lower doses of Suboxone like 2-4mg have been shown to be just as effective as higher doses (8-32mg).
