Suboxone Withdrawals

can't offer any advice besides loperamide, clonodine, benzos, bla bla

but just wanted to say GOOD JOB keep it up you know it's so worth it when you're fully detoxed :D GOOD LUCK!

After about 8 weeks of 8mgs a day of Subby, a co-worker who borrowed my tahoe decided to steal the remaining 8 days worth of medication out of my center console. I called the police, and he was arrested with them in his possesion, but they were kept as evidence and not returned. I had to go 9 days including the day my appt was on at 4pm without, and it was just as bad as withdrawing from all the heroin. I don't ever want to do it again. Subby functions as an anti-drug, anti-w/d. anti-anxiety, anti-depressant, anti-psychotic for me, and I really want to take this same dose the rest of my life.

Wow! That sounds really crummy, what a shitty co-worker. I use one of my old bottles of suboxone to hold about 5 pills that I keep in my car. The rest I keep in the same drawer at home all the time. That way if my car gets stolen, someone breaks into my car, or I'm an idiot and lose the bottle I've still got plenty at home. Just out of your curiosity, what dose were you on at the time your co-worker stole your subs?

So I was looking at the new bottle of subs I got and it says "Suboxone 2mg/0.5mg". Whats the deal with 0.5mg bit? I looked at the pills and they say "N2" on them. Just don't get why they put 0.5mg on the bottle.

Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't read the first sentence you wrote celebratefor20-"After about 8 weeks of 8mgs a day of Subby"

dont worry man suboxone withdrawal isn't too bad i just got off it like a month ago and jumped at 1mg/day, your not gonna lose sleep your body will probably just ache so take some aspirin and try to get clonidine which will help out, find something to do too so your mind isnt thinking about withdrawals. After a week or two you won't feel anything anymore... 2mg/.5 is bupe and naloxone ...

to answer your question i was on 8mgs a day. i take 4 mg in the am (on the way to work) and 4 after lunch (at work.) thats why i kept them in the tahoe. they were the little 2mgs so i had 32 pills in the bottle at the time. i didnt even know they were missing til the next AM on the way to work...I called the police, and he brought them to work with him that day too. He is a piece of shit. He doesnt work there anymore.

You need to taper to a smaller amount before totally stopping. Like from where you were at 1/4 of a pill daily.... then go to 1/8 of a pill for a week, then 1/16 of a pill for a week. Something along those lines.

what he said^^^

You don't want to jump down from a high dose. If you do the withdrawals can be pretty rough. I wouldn't say they're worse then heroin, but if you haven't been dope (and aren't used to being sick every day) the withdrawals seem just as bad if not worse than heroin just because your body and mind isn't used to being dope sick.

When I quit suboxone i went from 16mgs a day, then to 8 (no problem) for a few weeks then to 4(no problem) for a few weeks then to 2, i stayed at 2 for a month or two, then went down to 1 mg for about 2 weeks, then down to one mg for a week or two, then down to half a mg for week or so, then quit altogether.

The slower you taper the less you feel. It is possible to feel little if any withdrawal if you do it slow enough. However even with the way I tapered I still got some types of sickness, and it was worse than I expected.

It wasn't like heroin withdrawal but it was uncomfortable for 3-5 days, and I didn't feel normal for about 2 weeks. (probably because i was on suboxone for so long that the suboxone feeling became 'normal' and I had to realize what normal was again)

When I first got on suboxone and I tried to stop I used Lortabs 10/500's for the first 3 days after my last dose of suboxone I didnt go crazy with the lortabs like 4 a day and it helped lot with WD's. Im not recommending this to anyone I am just telling you how I stopped taking the Sub. After those first 3 days of not taking sub and using the lortabs for sub WD's I had no side effects and I went 64 days without taking any opiates. Everyone is different and im not recommending this but It worked for me.
