suboxone had to cheat how long till next dose

I couldn't find a straight answer so I figured I make my own thread. I've been on subs for about a year...taking 6mg a day. I was away for the weekend and left my self short saturday/sunday. Buddy had some methadone so I took 20mg sat night and 10mg sunday morning. How long do I need to wait to take my next sub w/o putting myself thru P/Wds. Its the only time I've ever taken dones and I'm starting to feel the onset of w/d. Yawns, watery eyes, anxious, little bit of the chills.

Did you feel the methadone at all? Since you are on sub maintenance, you most definetly have/had sub/bupe built up in your system. If you wanted to be pain-free, I might suggest trying to find a shorter acting opiate for the day (today), but allow a good nights sleep between dosing again on suboxone (ie taking it tomorrow morning). Otherwise, if you can't do that, I would wait until you really can't stand it anymore before taking the suboxone.

I am no expert, but also since your body is dependent on sub, I think you won't experience the dreaded Precipitated Withdrawals. If I understand it correctly, the only way that precipitated withdrawals occur with taking suboxone is when one has opiates in their system AND they are dependent/addicted to full-agonst opiates. Don't quote me on that though. I'm sure Mr. Scag, CH, Tommyboy or another suboxone expert can chime in here.
