Suboxone user attempting a brief high on Methadone? Has anyone actually tried this?

Basically I attempted to ask in the giant Suboxone thread but my post got lost in the shuffle and I figure this situation which is backwards to most including this combo of drugs.

So, a long term Suboxone user has the ability to access Methadone. Now its hard to think about but I think someone here must have tried it.

Basically this situation is very different than going from dependence on a full agonist like methadone to trying a partial agonist (like Suboxone). aka all the terrible "when can I take a sub if Im on MMT?????" posts that shit up other drugs.

It would be like going from dependence on a partial agonist to briefly imbibing a FULL agonist. Basically there is no threat in taking the methadone on top, other than not getting high and basically having to wait to dose bupe again probably about 24 hours.

Anyone with personal experience would be the best as I think I've teased out the basics. I'm just afraid of people thinking the situation is similar to:
methadone --> suboxone --> methadone because it is not.

If we can get some light shed on the topic than next up is what dose to have fun?

has anyone found a general decent ratio? like 10:1 aka 8mg suboxone = 80mgs methadone???

Thanks for all who read my rant and took it serious and gave it real thought :)

basically having to wait to dose bupe again probably about 24 hours.

nope man.. more like 3-4 DAYS... unless you like instant withdrawal..

I would wait 24-48 hours since last sub dose than maybe take 15-30mgs of done depending on your tolerance for a buzz...

Ive done this many times its not really worth it

I read you post man can you read mine?'

You said you would probaby have to wait 24 hours again to dose BUPE after DONE and no your gnna have to wait what i said

Wait, withdrawal being induced from moving from a partial agonist to a full agonist makes no sense. I'm going FROM suboxone TO methadone, possibly, not the other way around......*sigh.* Going back on suboxon may require some caution but probably not much as I am not dependent on a full opioid agonist.

Please Bluelight let the next few posters have actually read my thread....plz :( OR I may just have to give it a shot and report back.

You're dependent on Suboxone. Which means you're dependent on opioids. Methadone, heroin, opana, vicodin, suboxone, same thing in terms of ''I'm hooked''.

You're aware that suboxone will block some if not all of the ''high'' from the methadone. As I'm sure you've heard before, wait as long as you can before you take the methadone, to give yourself a better chance at getting a buzz.

Taking methadone after suboxone will not put you into withdrawal. If you're already stable on suboxone, you could probably wait 24 - 30 hours after your last dose, then take however much methadone, then wait another 24 hours or so to resume your suboxone. I find the odds of precipitated withdrawal are quite low, if you just sneak one "cheating'' session in.

I do not think there is any ''set ratio'' of suboxone vs methadone. It takes me around 120mg or so of methadone to get a recreational buzz, yet I can stay stable from a mg or two a day of buprenorphine. Take it slow, don't expect too much of a high, and do not go on a full out binge. If anything, this time will teach you the basics of ''cheating'' the suboxone, and next time you can do it ''right''.

I think I am currently holding a Bluelight record for how many ''words'' one ''can'' put in ''quotation'' marks in one post, with this response!

Thank you for this answer! I am guessing that I can go pretty hog wild on the methadone than (just kidding). But Maybe Ill give it a shot and see what happens. EDIT: Not a literal shot.....

I dont get it. How is this any different than all the posters on bupe asking about breaking through their dose? These sorts of questions have been answered so many times....

However, maybe the OP is asking, if he takes methadone while on bupe therapy, how long after taking the done does he have to wait till he can take his bupe again without throwing himself into pricip wd... I am unsure about this as well. My thoughts are that the bupe will only cause pricip. wd if you are dependent on opiates/oids other than bupe...

an 8mg sub is like a 10mg methadone, it wont get you high. although some people call methadone a high i dont. wait 24hours after your last meth dose then take the sub, you will prob have a couple hours of hang time before all is calm again

I took about 5mg suboxone this morning. i'm going to go get some 10mg methadone pills right now, looking to take some to get high. I'm pretty sure I won;t go into precipitated w/ds but will I get high at all?

You only go into PW's if you have opiates in your system then take the suboxone (if you're psychically dependent on opiates). Taking them after suboxone will just mean you wont get high, like in your case. The suboxone will block the methadone.. you won't be able to get high on any opiate until the suboxone is out of your system.

And just so you know.. you bumped a three year old thread..
