Hey guys ill get right to the point I've been on a downward spiral for the past year with opiates IV heroin, opanas, oxys so on and so forth and I've been trying to get on at a methadone clinic but I can't make the drive before work everyday because its 45 min away. Anyway I decided to enter a suboxone program which seems to be ok but I won't be able to get help till early october on there program. So they gave me a number to a doc that writes a script for a months worth. The visit is *expensive* the cost of the subs which is pretty high. Anyway my problem is that I'm currently not phsically addicted to opiates I usually bing on the weekends and end up blowing my entire check I've been addicted recently and am very used to the feeling. I'm cought in this cycle of mental addiction and finacially its tearing my life apart. I have an appoitment with the doc next week and yes I know I shouldn't be going without a tolerance but I'm not sure what else to do my question is when I go the session should I just make sure I act like I'm in withdrawl I know every symptom very well. I've heard he goes through a check list to see where your at in your withdrawl is this true ? Also should I make sure to have some opiates in my system incase of a piss test ? I know its not the best plan but I truely don't know if I can ever get away from opiates. Ps I also have used suboxone from the street for months at a time and it worked wonders for me

-We can't tell you how to fool doctors, but I will tell you this, doctors know when you're in withdrawal and when you're not. There are psychological and physical signs of opiate WD.

I guess the better question would be do you HAVE to go to the appoitment in withdrawl or not ?

you need to be in withdrawal to get suboxone. if youre not in physical withdrawal...then taking suboxone will PUT you in withdrawal. you can trust i know what im talking about and i know where youre coming from. to me, it sounds like youre more mentally addicted than physically. and im sorry thats not what suboxone is for. its to mitigate the PHYSICAL symptoms. even if you were in withdrawal, i wouldnt recommend sub. its awful and its expensive. it has its own withdrawal too. buprenorphine is effing powerful and no offense, but knowing opiate addicts...you might wind up abusing that too. there is no point...

i repeat

no point in getting subs if youre not in physical detox. plus, they dont prescribe it forever. its a physical preventative...not a mental one. theyll cut you off in a month or 2 anyway and youll be right back where you started. i understand how much it hurts not to have opiates. and i understand how great it feels to get that fix. but you just dont like the mental cravings...i suggest you find a good cognitive behavioral therapist to help you rewire how you think. otherwise youre going to be scrambling for a fix for the rest of your life.
