Hello fellow BL'ers, I have a problem, a problem that needs attention. If you have had personal or second hand experience please drop a message.
I have been on Suboxone for one and a half months. Started on 4mg upped to 8mg same week, following week went up to 12 then 16. Now I am on 28mg for the last 2 weeks. I have been in check with my doctor and have discussed the lac of psychological craving relief also the physical feeling of slight withdrawal the next morning including upper back pain and lactic calves which rises to upper legs. Also in the morning as soon as I wake up I have achy hands, feet, knees and hips. All of which are mitigated by movement, up until my next dose.
I want to talk to him about methadone treatment but I dont want to hop to soon. I have been researching as much as possible and it seems to vary from person to person in this instance. I do have a slipped disk very low in my back that is on a nerve, any laborious tasks cause pain within a few minutes. I know that methadone will help me for sure with my pain but I want to know that I will be covered for my opiate cravings.
For example I can take bupe as normal and will receive a slight buzz that peaks at 1.5 hrs. But I can add dxm 1h-20 minutes prior to dose and I will be quite high for at least 6 hours and to be honest I enjoy that 1-2 times a week.
Any help in deciding whether to switch will be much appreciated and I will be updating accordingly.
