Ok, so I've seen the threads about how long to wait to get high on heroin and most say between 36-48Hrs. I kind of have interesting circumstances. I've been on 8mg a day (4 in the morning and 4 at night) for about 5 months now. I'm about to use heroin tomorrow and need to know if it's worth it. The thing is that my last dose of 4mg was about 36 hrs ago, but then to not go into serious w/d's, I took 1mg about 12hrs ago. I took some vyvanse to help keep my energy up but I don't really feel sick yet. I'm sure tomorrow morning I will feel like shit. So after about 56Hrs from the 4mg dose and 32Hrs from the 1mg dose, will I be o.k to get high? I don't want to waste my time and money for something that's not going to work. I think it will be enough time but I'd like some opinions. Thx

I really need an answer by tomorrow. Also, I'm seeing on other forums that once you start to feel the first signs of w/d that the shot will work. Is that true? I've done all this before but usually I end up in rehab to get completely detoxed off subs and then I know I'm good to get high. Sometimes I'd waited for to long and was sick forever, or, I didn't wait long enough and had only a tiny rush and that was it. I definitely want to wait long enough so I get the full effect, but, I don't want to be sick for super long before I can get my shot. So what do you recommend? 24hrs? 36? 48? I know it's confusing so I will appreciate the help. Remember it will have been about 38hrs since I took 1mg. Thx
From my experience, I would say you should be perfectly fine to get high. You're giving yourself a sufficient amount of time between doses of sub, I mean you only took 1mg 32 hours ago; anytime I've taken between 1-4mg of suboxone, I've given myself at the very least 24 hours and I've never had a problem with it interfering with my high. Hope all goes well.

You're probably good to go, but you also have to take into account, that when you take eight milligrams of buprenorphine a day, you are actually just maintaining a much higher, built-up dose of bupe. Check out these charts because I find them pretty interesting myself:

The second graph is of more importance for the sake of this discussion as it shows the build up of the half life's over the 11 day period that it takes to stabalize. By the eleventh day, when the suboxone has stabalized, the ammount of buprenorphine in your system is more than double the ammount than the daily dose. So if that graph is correct than eight milligrams chronic dosing leads to a buildup of around twenty two milligrams.
So after 36 hours from your last dose, you would be down to about 11mg, and after 20 hours you should have roughly 7-8mg left. However dont be alarmed, many people who dose eight milligrams only once in a blue moon when they can't get their opiate of choice, find that they can get high about twelve hours later..
