What is your opinion? I was on Suboxone for over 2 years and got off of it, then jumped right back onto the H. (1/12 to 2 gram a day IV habit).
I just got 14 8 mg suboxone film strips today, and I don't want to take it long term....but my Dr said I need to take it until I am mentally stabilized as well.
Opinions on how I should go about getting my mind and body right again?:?

Start with the buprenorphine dose you need and then cut down as slow as you need, ask your doctor for lyrica after i while it really helps to stop with the buprenorphine and keep of the H to. offcourse its individual but i think the lyrica(pregabalin) will help you a lot to get more motivation and help with the withdrwal symtoms. I have gone off both H and subutex with only lyrica.

I would try a short taper just because I've read that bupe is harder to get off of than oxy...

Short and sharp has always worked best for me but everyone is different.

i think the line gets a little blurred on a long taper, i cant speak from personal experience but ive heard the bupe can be just as tough to kick.

You might want to check out this thread that I made on the topic. It's a good topic and I hope that more people can contribute with their experiences since it's a topic that can help a lot of people.

I think a short term taper would be best but since you have kicked suboxone before you know what will work best for you. follow your gut
