I have a hypothetical question that ive been trying to get an answer to but no one seems to know. Ive look through all the Suboxone threads and mega threads and i havent yet seen adressed,

Ok, here is the scenario.

You've been taking other opiates.

You take Suboxone/Subutex too early and the Buprenorphine knocks all the other opiates of your receptors, putting you into an immediate precipitated withdrawal.

How long do you have to wait before you can take more Bupe before it will make you well instead of making the precipiated withdrawal worse?

I cant find an answer to this and everyone seems to be as clueless as me when i posted the question earlier.

If this ever happens to me i'd really like to know what to do.

Does anyone have any idea?

It's never appened to me thank god in all the years ive used it.Ive taken my subs within hours of my last hit of dope and felt fine.I would think that if it did happen that once the precipitated w/d's are over that you should be able to take more subs.Thats the only thing that makes sense to me.Ive never heard anyone complain of back 2 back precipitated w/d's.
Dont take my word on this im just speculating. It is a good ? n i look forward to some more ansers.

Precipitated withdrawals in my experience last like 3-6 horus before it started getting better for me.

If you can tough it out, when you start to feel some relief that would be a good time to take more. You can just continue dosing am and pm and eventually you will adjust.

After getting hit with precip wds, taking more bupe is the method reccommended to alleviate the suffering. Dosing an additional 4 mg every half hour or so until the wds subside. Good source of information as well as what to do in the event of Precip wds can be found at NAABT.org

Dont take subs right after your last hit of opiates! Wait at least 12-16 hours. It shouldn't be hard if you do it like this... Take your last hit about 4-6 hours before you go to bed, and then sleep in as long as you can. By that time it should be AT LEAST 12 hours hopefully more, and I always take part of a sub to see if it makes me go into Pre w/d and so far I have NEVER had any pre w/d's. Its a great rule to follow in my opinion because it has worked for me 100%, and I always feel great after I take the sub after I wake up. GOOD LUCK!
