so i was wondering. i am trying to kick my habit and i wanna get on bup. so was wondering when i go to the doc and ask for suboxone if i will be black listed for ever where i will never be able to get any opiates for injury etc. i do not have insurance either

anyone. thanks

First of all this question has been answered atleast 2 dozen times since ive been a member of this site and thats only been a couple months so I KNOW you people ARE NOT using the search engoine like you say you are. USE THE SEARCH ENGINE.

....and also use common sense.....do you people not realize that whe you go to a doctor for ANY problem whatsoever, that that doctor CANNOT release any of your information/treatment/medication/etc....WHATSOEVER unless YOU say its ok. No other doctor will find out about you taking suboxone unless you tell them, or give your suboxone doctor permission to tell them. I dont know why you people think there is some BIG database where EVERYONES medical information is stored, for ANYOOOONE to see whenever they want.

PLEASE people.....PLEASE....use the search function....I just typed in "suboxone" and "will I ever be able to" in to the box and came up with around 4 different instances where people asked that EXACT same question!!......one of the times was from earlier today!...and another was from yesterday!....this is rediculous.

Im sry for being rude its just rediculous.....if you read BL's rules and OD guidelines you would know that you are expected to "search, search, search" before starting any new threads. And I personally have answered this EXACT SAME QUESTION atleast 7 times on my own recently.

searched suboxone blacklisted and nothing.. there was a really long thread that i didnt read.. sorry. and i always search.. you dont have to go all out on me for asking a dam question.. and who are you people.. its me.. not you people.. i asked the question. dont assume me with other people.. .. wow

Im just saying man.....our forums are constantly getting clogged up by completely unnecesary threads like this. I really didnt mean to be rude...its just the truth man....I KNOW FOR A FACT it is not hard to find ALLLLLLLL of the threads allready made about this EXACT same situation. Apparently all you tried is ONE search for "suboxone blacklisted".....and then you quit thre when you didnt get anything. Have you even read our rules and guidelines????.....it specifically says to..."search, search, search,.." before posting ANY thread to make sure that thread wasnt allready covered. And it just so happeneded this thread has been covered a couple dozen times atleast. I have every right to post to you what I did.....you just need to try to not take personal offense from it and do your best to learn from it, because what I told you was the 100% truth. It took me a few seconds to find several threads started EXACTLY like yours, and i never even use the search function much because I dont usually start threads. I was just being honest......we a have guidelines to follow on BL and ALOT of people dont care to even read them. And it just so happens that one of those guidelines has to do with starting threads without doing several searches for similar posts before you start the thread.....like I said, its wasteful to the space we have here on BL for threads, and its just plain not using common sense.....and that kind of activity is frowned upon and unnaccepted. Im not like bashing you and calling you names, im letting you know what you did wrong(or actually what you DIDNT do) so that you know beter for next time.

No if you are injured it is a doctors obligation to treat your pain adequately.....I was on suboxone and had to go to the ER for a bad gall stone attack, and after the ultrasound they said it was pretty serious because basically my entire gall bladder had become one giant gall stone, and that I would need surgery to remove it.......They could see I was in real physical pain, I was screaming and throwing up and very pale looking.....They also knew I was on suboxone, but some doctors are still so naive....I had to explain to them why I was on suboxone, and after that they still gave my morphine IV every 4 hours, then was moved up to dilaudid because the morphine was not strong enough due to bupe raising my tolerance and still having a little in my system (I was on 1mg a day). They treated me just like any other patient.

yup thats the way it should work right there^^^^

The search function does fuck all for me most if the time I tried finding that thread and the bupe alcohol solution that 6/7 started and i couldn't find it even though i knew the thread existed I had to go to the bupe megathread and then link from there. Personally I feel for people using the search sometimes it just doesn't work out that great.

i agree with you that sometimes it really doesnt work that great, especially depending on what your trying to look up....but in this instance, I had personally answered that exact same question twice in the past 24 hours....and I was able to find several more threads started with that exact same quesiton by doing a simple search. It also has alot to do with the persons "search engine" skills. It can take practice to learn how to properly use the search tool to your best advantage. Thats why we have rules that state....'search, search, search....before you post a thread".....it gives you practice, and more than likely you will find the thread your looking for, if not several of them.

*I really wasnt trying to be rude to the Op, its just sicne I had personally gone through that exact question SOOO MUCH recently I got a little upset. I apologize if I came across as rude, I should always make newer posters feel welcome. I really am sry for that...but what I said still is valid and im still gonna stand by it. It really is best for EVERYONE if we dont have all these threads that have been asked over and over and over again. it clogges our server and wastes space. It also wastes time that poster/mods/admins could be spending "reducing harm" elsewhere.

dont worry youll be fine doctors cant release medical information without your approval so you should be ok as long as you dont give consent

I would hope that any doc you went to see if you were in a situation that required pain control and had access to the DEAs web page which lists all controls that had been filled in your name within the last year, would not under medicate your condition because of suboxone listed in your profile.

It's not a far leap with certain docs that they indeed would be very cautious or suspicious of prescribing opiates/iods to a person who has suboxone. Is it fair? Is it best medicinal practice? I think not, but reality is he/she would be a lot mote aware, limiting, cautious of what they would scribe you in that situation in relation to you.

I have had it happen to me. I had my one and only(hopefully) outbreak of shingles on my lower back which spread up my left lat and it was very very painful. I climb poles for a living and during the course of the day my job would cause much anguish at night for me. I went to my doc... He saw the proof of the inflamed, oozing, swollen, redden area knowing that I am a lineman and the stress's of my job... Offered me darvocet or some codeine. He told me he usually rights hydro or rarely low dose oxy in these situations but the risks of addiction do not out weigh my discomfort.

Sooooo... I think it really depends on your past history(dea data base-doc shopping? Massive quanties of opiates? Early refills), hardcore personality traits of certain docs, your appearance.... On how a certain doc will manage pain control knowing your on or had been on suboxone.

In theory, no. The doc should manage your pain control with best practice.

While I have had no trouble getting adequate pain control when I certainly need it (mainly due to hospital stay/surgery), I have had many psychiatrists not prescribe medications such as benzos, sleep medications, and ADHD medications due to the fact I was on suboxone......While they all said that these medications would benefit me, they said that due to the abuse potential of the medications that they do not feel comfortable prescribing the above said medications, even though they acknowledged that the medications would improve my quality of life......kinda fucked up imo. Now I never tell any doctors that I was on suboxone, and also state that I have never had an addiction problem.

u need to go a little further than searching..suboxone blacklisted, like what does that even mean..

its state rules/regulations

all states are different...

in new york, yes every pharmacy will know uve been on bupe

but in other states, no, pharmacys are not hooked up together so as long as u dont go to the same pharmacy it wont matter... and it doesnt matter either way..whata dr prescribes u, they need to fill.

exactyly^^ it doesnt matter ONE BIT if the pharmacies know what youve been taking, it only matters about the doctors, because THEY are the ones who give you the prescription....and I guarantee you they cannot release your medicatl information to ANYONE without your consent...that has NOTHING to do with state laws. Its just like if you go to a pschiatrist, they cant tell anybody ANYTHING about your time with them(i.e. your medical information concerning there practice) because its against the medical code of ethics.

*That sucks that in new york all the pharmacies know what you have been prescribed. thats rediculous. where I live, the people would NOT stand for that kind of personal information breach.

Why are you such a fucking dick? I wonder if you are rude to people in real life or you are only rude to people on internet forums where there is a good chance someone will not be able to find you and beat the fucking shit out of you. You are a condescending cunt and I have seen you talk down to people like you just did in this thread many many times. Why don't you get off your high fucking horse and show some respect to other people especially newer members. And I saw already in a later post that you apologized for being rude. How many times are you going to apologize before you just make the decision not to be rude anymore? YOU PEOPLE!?!??! You really do sound like a fucking asshole and I just want you to know that.

sry if you think i was being rude but as i explained earlier i wasnt trying to be. so its pretty much a misunderstanding that can happen easily over the internet. and i understand that people can get the wrong idea from what your saying alot so i apologized in case he though i was trying to be rude. I was merely explaining the situation to him.

but please, next time, if you have a problem with what im saying, you can either PM me about it so i can explain to you i wasnt trying to be rude and apologize for the confusion, or you can report me to a moderator. Either way, please dont clog our threads with posts like that, your pretty much just voicing your complaining opinion in a thread that is not meant for that. once again, sry you misunderstand me alot of the time....i do my best to help people and never once have i purposefully been rude to anyone....i feel only kindness to the people of Bluelight, even you when your trying to talk shit about me.

jesus jamesbrown, chill the fuck out. it seems like all your responses lately are you yelling at someone for not searching when clearly they have. fuckin dickhead.

Well if you are going to try and help people why don't you be polite and courteous? I can see if there is a troll or a member who has a post count high enough to know better but the OP seems to have no clue as to what the rules and regulations are. I never read any FAQ's but I lurked long enough to know the etiquette of these forums.

My basic point to you is that if you are going to reply to threads you should do so politely and if you can't, well than keep your fucking fingers off your keyboard.
