Hi. Long time reader, 5 year opiate addict (doc 30 mg oxy) first time poster so not sure if I am in the right spot or not. But with that being said I've had an interesting few days and had a question.

I took methadone at about 40 mg a day average for 9 days straight. Stopped for 96 hours and took 8 mg suboxone film yesterday at 2 pm (4 mg then 4 mg 2 hours after because of lack of wd relief. I was worried of precipitated withdraw put felt i waited long enough after the methadone. Well even after the 8mg sub it took maybe 1/4 of the wd symptoms away but was still feeling terrible. Did 120 mg insulated last night around 830 (approx 6 hours after sub). Didnt get the normal high but did get complete relief and craving gone.

Im just wondering what happened with the sub? Usually 8 mg is plenty. Also i would like to know if you guys think if there will be any block on opiates if used today around the 19-24 hour mark? I know normally there would be a block but since it didn't give me complete relief i thought maybe it wouldn't block like normal.

Like I said, first post, hope Im in the right spot and that I can find this again if I get some replies lol thanks in advance.

Thinking now I maybe should have posted this in the homeless area? Not sure....lol

Hello and welcome. Are you trying to quit? I am new here and take 30 mg oxy for pain mng ( 5 yrs) and am so sick of being dependent and dulled with no feeling.... Am here to try to get motivation and hope

No. Not if the 120 made you feel better. As you only took the Sub one time, the Naloxone and Bupe should rapidly exit your system. Your best bet is to wait 24 hours. Had the Suboxone built up in your system it would be a different story, but one use should dissipate fairly quick.

And to Sooverit, I also suffer from chronic pain. I was on 30mg x 2 ER Morphine tabs, and 30mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain a day. I tried everything to try to help with the pain. All my doctors would dois increase my dosage. Finally, out of desperation and not wanting to be dependent on such large doses of opiates, I tried Suboxone. I was prescribed 8mg x 3 daily. There was certainly some discomfort early on, but after a few days I realized that 8mg once a day kept me pain free. Suboxone is no miracle drug, but it has been a year and a half now and I have learned how to manage the pain in a much more effective way. I take about 2mg a day, and I am tapering down even lower. Best wishes.

Thank you for your response. I we consider it. Are you less foggy and forgetful on suboxone?
