Opioids Suboxone makes me sick

Okay. So i've been on suboxone before for a long time. Even when i was stabilized for months i would get kinda sick every morning when i would take it... and then about 20-30 minutes later i would feel fine.

Today i switched back from heroin to subs. I took 4mgs this morning and felt like hell... eventuallly things got better. Then tonight i feel the wd symptoms coming back so i redose 4mgs. At this point i'm suprised to find out that I get really sick when redosing after I had already had 4mgs that morning. As i'm writing this i'm starting to feel the ill effects wear off again.

I don't get it?

Its as if the bupe is competing with the bupe and leaving me all sick for short periods of time.

someone help explain here.
 
First, if you take the Subs before you are in significant active w/d's, you can actually PUT yourself into w/d's...been there done that, and due to the long ass half life....you feel pretty crappy for a day or two.

Another possibility is that your dose is too high. A little Sub goes a long way, a LOT of people are Rx'ed a higher dose than necessary. If I were you, I would try a smaller dose and see if the side effects diminish some.

Lastly, you may simply just not tolerate the drug...that happens with people. Not an "allergy", but an intolerance.

Try the dosage change (if you are being managed by a Sub doc/clinic, discuss with them) first and then go from there.
 
Have you experienced precipitated withdrawal before?

That aversive reaction could condition you to associate that experience with the taste or something else with the bupe causing your sickness via classical conditioning.

Or perhaps you just don't respond well to bupe and get unpleasant side effects.
 
both good points. yes i know precip wds. There is a chance that I've become conditioned that way, but the physical response to taking it is just too much. I mean my skin completely goosefleshed and my eyes looked like i was trippin... huge pupils.

I have always been of the less is more school when it comes to subs, believe me. Its just that this time my habit got way out of hand with the heroin and the advise from my sub "doc" was to keep taking more until i stabilized. I do feel a bit better now that its been a while since my dose, but i'm still getting hot flashes. I don't get it.
 
2 mgs should make you feel alright. I don't see how some people take like 16 and + mgs a day. I had a pretty king kong habit and 2mgs< fix me right up.
 
I think the best way to go about it is to wait until you get to the verge of fairly bad W/D and then try a somewhat lower dose. That way you're sure to avoid any precipitated withdrawal.

As other are saying, it's very strong stuff and doses are commonly over prescribed.
 
I hear that, i usually start at 2mgs and usually it holds me. I then taper from there. Earlier this week i took 2mgs and it didn't hold me and after work i hooked up some dope. So I decided if 2 wasn't gonna hold, might as well try 4. Well that shit didn't work either this time. I really don't know what to do now, i have a bunch more I can munch on, but i'm not looking to jack up my sub tolerance either.... I just want to feel normal.

what to do what to do? Maybe its just time to pay up.
 
^maybe try putting the intial 2mg under your tongue, and if that doesnt hold you snort like half mg bumps til youre right.
 
Hey its been three days back on the subs now and i haven't slept for more than 1 hour per night. I usually am able to sleep right away with the subs, and i'm taking more than i ever have before. In fact i'm upset that my dose is as high as it is, today i only took 4 mgs, but 6mgs the day before and something like 16mgs the day before that. I usually just take 2 mgs or less, but whatever. I will try to tie myself over on 2 mgs tomorrow.

Anybody else have the no sleep problem? Subs usually even 2 mgs allow me to sleep right away.

I think some people react very oddly to bupe. I am not dependant on opiates but do have a tolerance and even if i take JUST ENOUGH bupe to feel effects, it turns into a puke fest. I also suffer insomnia when i take bupe and usually end up using anti-histamines to get to sleep. I think you might just be one of those people whose body does not take bupe well.

When I used to take Suboxone sublingually I used to vomit daily. For months and months. As you can see I am much happier opting out of that ROA.
 
^ capt i too notice less naseua when IVing or sniffing bupe. i wonder if some peoples reaction has anything to do with the naloxone.
 
Same here. I get a much better feeling when I IV my subs than taking it sublingual. Would also get headaches too.
