I have been using about half a gram of black tar heroin a day for the past 2 weeks. I have been using heroin intermittently for the last year but never this heavy. I went on a 2 week stint last may using about this much, also in the first half of august about 20 hours after my last you use I begin to feel intense withdrawal symptoms. by the way I freebase it off of tinfoil only. I also have been taking .5 milligrams of benzos everyday since 2010. right now I'm at about two milligrams of kp a day. right now my plan is to take 4 milligram of suboxins sublingual (so I will cut the strip in half with a pair of scissors and let it dissolve under my tongue) with 1 milligram kp at 6 pm tomorrow. my last herion use was at 845 this evening. how does this plan sound I am totally open to suggestions I want your opinion thank you. this is my plan to quit heroin.

So your last opiate use was at 8:45 PM on Tuesday, and you plan on taking 4mgs of suboxone at 6PM Wednesday? You might want to stretch it out until the 24hr mark so at 8:45 Wednesday. I am sure that you have heard of the precipitated withdrawals that can happen if you take suboxone too soon after taking another opiate, which is why you have to be in moderate withdrawal when you take the suboxone, and 24hrs is the general rule of thumb (unless you had taken methadone which has a long half-life in which you wait 3 days, but that is not the case here).

I recommend taking 2mgs of suboxone first, and then wait a good hour before deciding whether or not you need more suboxone. If you do decide to take more, I suggest increasing by 1mg at a time, and waiting between 1 and 2 hours before re-dosing.

Good luck.
