I am using a small amount of suboxone to come down off of a month of heroin and i was extremely afraid of precipitated wd.

Here is my success story
Night 1 - last line of heroin at midnight
day 2- tramadol and kratom and baclofen early in the morning. last kratom dose was at 5 pm phenibut at 7pm
night 2- melatonin, valerian, 1/2 a baclofen, and doxylamine succinate and put a phenibut pill a bottle of water and a weed bowl by the bed went to sleep fine.
day 3- woke up at 7 am feeling bad popped the phenibut pill and smoked a few rips and then went to sleep and woke up at 8:30 still feeling bad. Induced sub in .25-.5mg intervals 20min apart until 9:10 then started to feel fine.

now I feel fine since the subs a couple hours ago and my dose is only like 1mg!
Success!

Yeah less is more with subs but I wouldn't mix so many drugs.

Everybody wants some "Magic Elixr" Combo for withdrawal, but there isn't one, and throwing random OTC or Rx meds into the mix, is borderline reckless, given that the Sub itself will relieve about 85% of withdrawal (just not so much the Mental side IME, but i'm taking 1mg every other day(if I can skip) after a 3 week 120mg hydrocodone/day binge.

I usually do this every other week when I run out of Norcos, my routine is simple; A.) 1mg suboxone+-.5mg every a.m. (or skip days if you can, may be difficult today is first I've skipped just cold and bright lights and stuff...
B.) Marijuana PRN

That usually makes life manageable, and I DO have a HIGH opiate tolerance, but with bupe, there is no "Buzz" like it gave me years ago, no matter how much I take, so instead of trying to get buzzed off it I just take As LOW A DOSE AS POSSIBLE. IME trying to catch a buzz on it increases negative side effects exponentially for every extra Mg.

So bupe to keep you from being very ill, and mary-jane for mood, sleep, appatite, etc...

Good luck bro, stay outtta the dog fights!

I actually found the lower I got my sub dose the more of a " buzz" I would get I wouldn't call it a buzz I'd call it a mood lift that would last an hour to two hours after doseing I think it works like that becasue when y You get your dose really low your receptors aren't saturated and by the time the next dose comes there's is barely bupe left on receptors so your feel the ups and downs rather then a constant steady high level of bupe you would have if u were takeing a moderate to high dose

Using the suboxone alone would have worked just fine. I find dosing twice daily after coming down off of heavy opiate use keeps withdrawals completely at bay. It's like after several hours after the initial dose, eating/drinking, I start getting withdrawal symptoms, so another 1mg/pinch works.

Suboxone gives me killer migraines, though.

If subs give you migraines, try to be conscious of how much you are swallowing (if at all) while it is dissolving. I began taking Subs about 3 years ago as part of a research study and had an APRN literally staring at me while I took each dose so I got some tips from the pros. If you swallow your spit when it accumulates in your mouth, the naloxone could cause severe headaches/migraines. I don't swallow until it's dissolved and if I have to do something I'll spit (carefully).

If you have subs, you shouldn't need anything else for withdrawal. They're very effective but potent and (imo) the dosage tends to be prescribed very high. I was on 16 mg. per day at one point and my doctor refuses to go lower than 12 mg/day. Hence my stockpile...I take 4 mg. when I take it at all. Subs are awful to kick..use as sparingly as possible. They're a blessing and a curse.
