I have been on Subs before. Couple of years ago. I waited around 24 hours, and took the Subs just fine. They let me do it at home.
So I go to a new Sub doc today. An Urgent Care clinic that does Subs also. They told me on the phone to stop taking opiates 24 hours before visit. I did this. This place does an in office induction. Last place didnt do this. I last took around 80 mg of oxy about 27 hours before the visit. Instant release.
When I get there I answer some questions. About my addiction, how much I take, reason for taking, and my current state of withdrawal. Told the totalt truth. I dont know how they do the grading but they said I was at a 4, and needed to be at a 14 as far as withdrawal goes. I felt like shit to me. Maybe I should of played up the withdrawals ro them? I felt terrible but I guess I didnt look or act like I was in serious enough withdrawals for them to do the induction today.
They said I need to come back tommorow morning to do the induction. Which will be 48 hours after last dose. After I was taking a short acting opiate Oxy. Which they say is very long acing. The doc seemed to be totally clueless. Telling me that I was on pure Buprenorphine before in Subutex, and these Suboxone with the extra indredient would thrown me into withdrawals. Telling me the Bupe part isnt what throws people into withdrawal. It's the Nalxone. From my past experince I know this is not true. I could of easily taken the Suboxone today without getting percipitated withdrawals.
They also show me my urine test where oxy was still in my system. They said since it was still showing oxy it was still in my sysyem also meaning I couldnt do the induction yet. As far as I know these little urine test will show oxy for weeks wont they? They are not an indication of it still being active is it? They said tommorrow the little pee test will show it's out of my system. Doesnt sound right to me.
The doc also seemed pretty clueless as far as Suboxone goes. Even not pronouncing it wrong, and not knowing how it works. Constantly asking me about getting "high" and asking how I could afford to buy so much off the "street". Alse he seemed to be amazed by my tolerance. Supposedly this place treats over 100 sub patients. Absolutely nothing like my last Sub Doc.
So now I have to wait until tommorow, and then after 48 HOURS go through the induction. Now I have to suffer through another night after being told to wait 24 hours before. For whatever reason I just dont show withdrawals as bad as others. I guess I will have to be in pretty serious withdrawals for these people tommorrow.
This really sucks, and is nothing like my first Sub Doc. Also cost three times as much, and they give strips which I will have to pay for out of pocket. Felt like I was reated like a junkie by the doctor.
