Hey,I'm new today and I need a little advice. I had two years opiate free up until a couple of months ago when I found 5 gms. Of some reall good H. I relapsed and was right back off to the races. My gf. and I,both went to a doc. and got on the subx program.I don't really want to stay on this crap, and it's just getting as expensive as getting high! My problem is,between the two of us, we have 16 strips until next wed. We are supposed to be taking 2 a day,but with insurance issues, we can't get our script filled. SOOO, I'm thinking we should just go ahead and start to get off these things. What's a good method of detox? Any help is appriciated! TIA!

Well, you will crave! Fist thing you need to understand. Cravings will return. Second, leg cramps .... try a good multi vitamin and lots of sex to replace dopamine. Slow way down. Do not take more until it becomes unbearable. And use less each time. Best wishes to you both.

Thanks,I'm down to one a day,and it's NO problem. I'm just gonna go back to the doc on wed.,get enough for two weeks(@2a day) and I think that will be enough for me to do this! Esp. since I'm already down to 1 p/d. I just wonder how long of a slow taper I should do.

The restlessness is one of the side effects and there are ways and meds that can help you with this.
There are worst things you will just have to learn how to cope. Is there support group nearby?
Cravings normally come and go..
I hope you get some support and deal with that accordingly..
I believe subs and methadone should be temporary..
Good luck to you all!!

Hi I'm new to here as well & was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or answers. 1st a little back story. I've been using H one & off for a long time, 30 years, with a few periods of 1/2 years off. Anyway, I've been prescribed Suboxone. I woke up yesterday morning in a full W/D , sneezing, watery eyes, anxiety to the max, twitching, loose bowel, etcetera. I took 1 strip of 8 mg, waited 45 mins & nothing, then took another 8 mg, waited & still nothing. It felt like I had brought on a precipitated W/D which I have never had happen to me before. In the past I have been able to take the suboxone & still use occasionally & I think because of my quick metabolism & body weight & size, depending on how much I used it would get over the Suboxone plus I would never go into a PWD at any time. But yesterday When I took it for the 1st time again, the Suboxone, I felt like the living dead. My questions are. Is there no set rule for taking the Suboxone at the right time. Is the COWS Sheet just a rough guide. Why is it I was able to use & take the Suboxone at the same time & never get withdrawals. Sorry if this is a lot to read, but I'm at the end of my rope with using dope. I read one guy had never talked to a girl, danced a bunch of other things, without being high. Well I'm almost the same. I feel like I've been living a double life. Any help would be great, thanks guys.

i personally hate suboxone, i was perscibed opiates in large amounts due to a surgery i had. i found this wonderful herb called kratom, its very cheep and it gets the job done, it dosnt get you high like opiates but it does give you somewhat of a buzz, i love it, its like my coffee, and i have a huge problem with opiates because of the dose i was given. i am lucky i never had to take suboxone to detox, i have taken suboxone before though, you can mix kratom and suboxone with no issues, i know this form personal experience. look up kratom and buy some, it saved my life, if i didnt find that, I'm not sure if id still be alive to be honest.

Welcome. I'm new as well. I've been on suboxon for 2 years. I had the same problem when I started. I called my doc and he said it's the dope withdrawals and take more suboxon till it subsides. I felt like complete shit but after a week it went away and I've never felt better!

. What exactly is kratom and what do u feel when you take it? Where can purchase it at. Haha. Sorry for the 21 questions

subs are the absolute worse...I feel you can take em somewhat often for a little while if you don't have a massive opiate tolerance, but after a few years of jumping back and forth between H and sub, getting off anything is pretty god awful...I never make it past 3 days without subs, and I take like 0.5 mg a day. Its actually been a couple weeks since I last took any subs, although I did do a couple bags the past 2 days in a row, and otherwise just drinking kratom, look into that stuff man..you can get it at smoke shops in certain areas and it really helps with the WD's.

Not to up on the subs but welcome, for some reason it was hard to post to you, maybe another post another place. You get well and enjoy the site its much better than Opiophile for help. Keep a strong spine your thread is back to the front, good fortune brother.

Hi I'm new to this too... I'm prescribed subs too. As far as guidelines go for how long you have to wait it's like a 48 to 72 hours after ur last use opiate or until will go into withdrawl. It probably does make a difference between each person but.. Ive been told if the naloxone is in your system at all u will get sick fast. As far as the kratom goes up can order it online or head shops sell it it's pricey but the problem with that stuff is upset get addicted to that to and the withdrawal from that is horrible it gives us a horrible stomach ache so I would be careful with that. I mean this is my experience of what happened to me with kratom it varies from person to person

I see so many new members having similar doubts, first of all welcome.
By trying to respond some of your questions, I believe you would all need to get some sort of support when dealing with subs.
It´s a substance that will be very difficult to quit later on, so my suggestion is that you deal with the problem now. It´s way easier.

Don´t go on with life and subs because it makes things easier when you are suffering from withdraws.
In a blink of an eye you´ll see years passing by and it gets harder and harder to stop. Until most of us lose the capacity to actually do!
I have been reading a lot about these meds and how to cope with opiates addiction.
There are lots of people out there who thinks it´s possible to take it for the rest of your lives.

I can see that you are all still young and there are lot of things in life you still can achieve. And being so new with Subs, from my experience, I would just find someway to stop while you still can.

You can also seek and ask for a moderator suggestions of the best threads on the subject so you´ll get more familiar with what I´m talking about.
