Yay i'm starting subs tomorrow. 2mg/day for 3 days then 1mg/day for 2. I'm gettin' clean. Hi Fives all around!

Are some doctors licensed to write for one and not the other?

Nah, it's just that some doctors fear writing prescriptions for Subutex, which is stupid.

I'm pretty sure you're just experiencing mild WD symptoms from going onto buprenorphine from oxymorphone. You could try to get sedatives, muscle relaxers, or BP meds for the side effects you are still experiencing.

This is my 2nd fuck up with Rite Aid, and will tell you all about it. The 1st time i called about 3 weeks ago and they told me it's there and come pick it up. we drive, gf. and i and arrive there and i'm about to pay, the lady told me 1/3 of the amount i normally pay for 30 pills, i gave her that "huh" face, and asked about the number of pills there, and she said 10! I said my doc and i agreed on 2 x 30 = 60 in total but i'm only picking up 30 this time, she said the doc still hasn't mailed the actual prx, and our policy is to give a 5 day "emergency" supply, and the fools think that 10 8mg pills are for 5 days!! (It's even written 2 pills daily!!) I called my doc from the pharma and he said they told him so and that he is mailing the prx tomorrow morning with 60 Subutex!!! I was so pissed off since i knew i had to do this trip soon, but not too soon of course, after all, with around 3 mg a day, the 80 mg lasted for 20 something day...not bad.
Back to part 2 today, i took my last 1.5 mg this morning and since gf needed her car, i had to go and rent one and left Toronto's downtown at 2.30 pm heading to Buffalo N.Y, where the RiteAid is 3 mns away from the borders. Of course i called them 2 days ago and the girl asked about my name and i think cause it's been more than 3 weeks, so she couldn't find it and came back to the phone an asked about the name of the med, i said Subutex, she went again then finally came back and said we have, and she was actually friendly and asked when am i coming to pick it up, i said when i get the car probably in a day or 2. So far so good, back to today's drive, i get to RiteAid and find 60 pills waiting. Took only 30 and head out and passed by Burger King for a bite, back to my car for my sweet dose, looking at the name and it's bloody Suboxone! Headed back all furious, the pharmacist showed me the hand written prx and it said 60 Suboxone!!! Took only 10 and from the anger, my eyes slightly teared, anyone knows what i'm talking about...watery eyes from Anger and just anger!? Anyways, that's me in RiteAid today...hehe...hate those things....oh man!!
Crossed the borders back and called my doc office and said to whoever answered the phone that "the Dr. did something very bad to me, and i had to drive all the way from Canada, and bla bla" all she could tell me is to call him tomorrow morning!! Fuck!! Why would i rent a car and cross the freaking borders for Suboxone when they have it here in Canada!! Either the doc is stupid and did it by mistake or he did it on purpose and in that case Fuck him! he can't change my medication without even telling me, i guess we'll find out tomorrow morning. And the RiteAid fuckers also should have told me on the phone when i specifically asked for my Subutex, and she said "it's right here, when are you picking it up?"
Hmmmm, from the anger, back in the car, i sniffed 6 mg....74mg to go, can't believe this sweet orange powder in my nose, damn it!!
Im sorry everyone, i just had to get it out, and writing is therapeutic for me, and yes Capt. it's Naloxone, sorry about it! i was still furious, i still am actually!

That sucks bro. I'd be pissed to if I had driven all that way to get something that's available in Canada. Good luck getting it cleared up.
 
hey so I just got some subs to finally get off 30s.

I was taking probably like 150mgs a day, some days less, some days more.

They're 8mg subs, should I just disolve a half under my tongue or should i snort a quarter of it?
and then maybe snort the other quarter later or whatever.

let me know what you think the best method would be for me. i really like snorting things, which is bad i know, but i got off with methadone months ago and found after a few days of popping them that snorting them little by little seemed to be more effective for me.

maybe snort a quarter and let the other quarter disolve under my tongue right after?

let me know please! gotta take them in the morning!

Dissolve 2mgs (1/4 pill) under your tongue, wait an hour. If you still have withdrawal take 1mg (1/2 of a 1/4) any way you like, though i would recommend taking it under your tongue. Take another 1mg every hour until you feel normal, and if you have kept track of how much you've taken all together then now you know how much to dose all at once the next day.

Good luck. Are you going on subs for the long haul or going to taper down quickly?
 
trying to get completely clean. how wait after last OC dose should i take it? i was told like 12 hours from multiple people, but I was thinking more along the lines of 14hrs.

wouldn't it be smarter to snort my first dose so it hits me faster?
 
You ppl in USA are sooo lucky. Here in the UK, I have to go EVERY DAY to take my Subutex in front of the pharmacist! And after reading this thread, some people state they have 80x8mg pills at home!?

That would be pretty much impossible here in the UK. For instance, even after being on the Subutex for three years, I went from daily collections to Mon, Weds, Fri collections. And ONE MISTAKE, boom! I'm back on daily supervised. This daily supervised shit is killing me.

My pharmacist is a 30 minute journey away. And I have to PAY busfare every day even though I should get free travel (My free bus pass expired). It's costing me Thirty Pounds a week in Busfare alone.

I cannot believe my luck. At least I'll get Christmas off.
 
^^ That's harsh bro, i got 45x 8mg pills per month for 16-17 months.

Sorry to hear that though man that's gotta suck. You thinking about getting off suboxone soon?

@dcp1192 - Snorting it might hit you faster, but you will have to dose sooner then you would if you took it under the tongue.

For those who snort their Suboxone, how long (on average) does it take for it to peak? What's the average peak time if you take it SL?

If it wears off quicker if you snort it, how soon does it start to wear off (on average) versus taking it SL? I'm still screwing around with my dosing and tapering at the same time. I just can't seem to find my sweet spot. I'm taking between 4 to 6 mgs a day, btw.

See, that is your problem. You are not taking a level dose. I used to mess around with my dose, and some days I'd rattle, other days I'd feel great.

Now that I'm on a regular daily dose of 4mg a day, I feel great every day.

You just gotta pick a dose, and dose that same dose every day. The benefits far outweigh the cons on this one dude. For real.
 
I find that snorting seems to last right around 24 hours for me before feeling that I need to take more. It doesn't really wear off that much faster, and doesn't require that I take any more doses than if I were dosing sublingually. The only difference really is that I feel the effects still a little more when I take my next dose after sublingual use than if I was taking the dose after snorting. The difference is not large at all, though. I actually prefer it this way as it helps prevent as large of an amount of bupe from becoming built up in your system.
 
Great!! So as mentioned last night i was angry and took 6 mg of Suboxone after stabilizing on 2 to 3 mg of Subutex, and i woke mid-night with a wet T-shirt that i had to change!!! Is that my hatred to the Suboxone getting back at me??!?! WTF!!

You did double your dose, maybe that has something to do with it?
