Um I'm sorry if this has been covered in one of the many megathreads. But I am now on Bupe everyday(though am taking a couple of days off to enjoy some full agonists) which sucked, becuase I IV; it wore off MUCH faster then I expected, and had some pretty nasty WD's within 24 hours of my last injection, which I honestly did not expect, and did not even have my full agonists to cover yet!!!
But anyway, I was wondering about the metabolite, norbuprenorphine, and specifically, whether or not taking st. johns wort can really give you what resembles a full agonist experience???
Again, I am sorry if this has been covered, but have searched and have found practically NOTHING. Basically, I just wanna know if it is feasible to use a "heroic" dose of st johns wort to get a high norbuprenorphine yield, or if buprenorphine itself will simply block it.
It supposedly works by inducing cyp3a4 to convert more to norbupe. My problem is, even if it COULD increase the norbupe yield, the liver would still need TIME to metabolize, no matter how high your cyp3a4's are functioning, meaning by the time you had said norbupe, bupe would be attached and would (mostly) antagonize it.
So please, if anyone knows anything about this, your wisdom would certainly be appreciated. Perhaps more importantly, WTF does norbupe do, assuming you manage to get some to attach to your recpetors? I mean I know it is a full-agonist, but what could I expect?
To be honest I usually use tagamet and other p450 inhibitors with my subby, as it makes my IV use even more intense, and it lasts longer, which I found out accidently when I got caught without my inhibitors a couple of weeks ago. So I could be wasting my time, but I am VERY curious...
