Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ and Megathread v.1; 2007 - 2010

Yeah I leave my bottle in the fridge. "Media bottle" - a 250ml container I got from gpzservices.com - very nice, a 0.2 micron filter fits snugly inside the media bottle's opening. Seeing as I'm only using 15mL of 250mL at a time (6% of the total volume) as of now and am unlikely to dilute it much further, it's kind of inconveniently huge, but it works well and I like it for what I need it to do.

What do you put your solution into once it's made? A vial? Do you have a pic?

I can't wait to roll out to the exchange - I have 800+ needles ready to go with me too.

Cool guide, I wonder if the plastic cannula tips that come with my 10ml needles will be enough that I don't need to go hunting to find real needles. What do you recommend for vials or media bottles? I don't want anything huge.

Also I just slept for like 15 hours after taking that oxy, I woke up thinking it was 5AM because of the darkness from the snow. Anyway when is a good/safe time to dose up on bupe again? I have a headache, I'm not sure if it's from WD or not but aside from the oxy it's been about 48 hours since I last had 1-2mg of bupe.

Oxy - got a question for you.

That's what I always hope for but it hasn't happened yet.

Are you having problems sleeping from Suboxone? I'm going to copy & paste this into the Suboxone Mega Thread.

Wait until you feel "crappy" or at least some WD symptoms.

What gauge are your needle tips?

What size is ideal for you? The media bottle I got fits fine in my fridge and is about 250mL. It's the smallest size that they made, and it was perfect for use with the micron filter.

I'll be taking pictures of everything, especially the second time I do this (when I know what to do each step instead of the trial version where I was figuring out exactly what to do the first time).

Oh no, I sleep fine I just mean it's not the opiate high type sleep where falling asleep and being asleep feels amazing. I really meant I hope to get high from Suboxone.

Oh.

You will, it might just take a while. I abused heron for a year and I was pretty dependent when I finally quit. Because of this, it was probably at least 6 months after starting Suboxone, and at least a few weeks into actually IVing Suboxone and beginning to taper down on it before I got high on it.

Gotcha though, I'm very fortunate to have a low opiate tolerance now. I get to enjoy being on buprenorphine, not something everyone can do I guess. However even when Suboxone was just "relieving" for me and didn't give me a rush or a high, I still enjoyed it. It was peaceful and I saved a lot of $.

I hear ya, as to my question above am I good to dose suboxone again after taking oxy 16 hours ago? EDIT: nevermind i see you answered above, I do feel crappy now.

Also does using micron filters get rid of the orange tint of the solution? I can't wait to get mine next week.

Haha no the orange is still there, but this is convenient. You won't mistake it for anything else (and neither will anyone else - it looks like dark urine) but its very clear orange liquid. The orange helps you see where the liquid is in the syringe so you don't accidentally push out any liquid because clear is harder to see (as then the air and water can be mistaken for each other at times).

I know the anticipatory feeling for sure! It is very exciting to get them coming to you.

You should be good to go though. Glad to hear you enjoyed the oxy, but also good to hear you're planning on using Suboxone for a while. In due time your opiate tolerance will pass. I was surprised at how high I got off of 15mg oxy IV'd, or 1mg hydromorphone IV'd. Each one had a unique rush I didn't think I'd ever be able to truly feel as I had such a huge tolerance to heroin previously. Suboxone can really help lower your tolerance and later on you'll be able to get high. I just wouldn't think about it and let time run its course. That's just my 2 cents.

0920ml
That's whats up man. 0.5mg is the dose where the rush + high really started to kick in. Now I'm at 0.16mg per dose I really do get a very great rush + high. It's rather pronounced.

I like how buprenorphine synergizes with other medicines too.

Yeah I wish I could use benzos recreationally since I know it would be good with it. I took a rozerem I found in a bottle of some other rx antihistamines which I also took and the oxy felt great.

What else goes well with bupe? I'm going to follow your technique when I get my filters and media bottle/vials (I still need to find and order these) and want to take 20ml or .32mg per day as maintenance since that is pretty close to 1mg sublingual daily which I think is a very good target that will let me get high when I want eventually.

What else goes well with bupe? All psychedelics other than salvia - I haven't tried it since being on buprenorphine, both drugs have action on the kappa opioid receptor so I'm not sure how it would go (ketamine, MDA, MDMA, mushrooms, LSD, etc) and I also haven't had a 2c since being on buprenorphine. Hydroxyzine goes wonderfully with buprenorphine, and so do benzos. Adderall goes along nice with it because buprenorphine softens the nasty blow of adderall's levo-amp effects. Finally last but not least (because it's my personal favorite thing to combine buprenorphine with) is cannabis. By far. Weed brings out the opiate like qualities of buprenorphine much more so than any other drug I've combined it with, (other than actual opiates of course).

I'll perfect my technique in two weeks from now and see if my instructions are 100% good. I think they are, I just wanted to double check by running it first. Logically every step should work out just fine if you are careful enough. 20mL per day though - that's a lot of solution to consume in one day. Maybe you want to make it more concentrated? You probably want to consume 2-3mL per day at the most. If you're using it 4-6 times per day, 1/2 mL each shot, that would make sense. But 20mL in a day? That's a lot. 15mL would last me 1 month of the solution I have now.

What MG are you around now? I can help you do the math if you want me to.

Ah, i see. For one, i would recommend using researchsupply.net for your next pickup as they have the same shipping costs (pretty high) but they have filters for a dollar (1.25?) cheaper, and essentially everything gpz has and more for cheaper.

For now i use the 30ml plastic sealed vial the bacteriostatic water comes in, but before i was using the 30ml sealed glass vials from researchsupply.net (gpz has them too, pre-sealed vials->clear, just more spendy).

The whatman filters have luer-lock on the syringe end and actually luer-slip on the filtration end. This makes it so you can attach needles with confidence and push your solution into a sealed vial.

This makes for an even better, more sterile option as you aren't exposing your solution to the air every time you open it, as i assume the media bottles work.

They have the same rubber stopper fits on the top as the bacteriostatic vials and you just sterilize, insert insulin needle, flip upside down and pull out your shot. I recommend these highly the next time you make a solution.

Like i said, you can reuse the bac-water vials but the glass ones are much nicer and are only like $1.75 and can be used several times.

And oxymorphone, 20ml is a lot to take very day, i believe bupe has an 18mg/ml capacity in water so its not necessary to dillute that much, i make 2mg/ml solutions and use ~0.75ml/day->1.5mg/day.

I have a question for you - why do you prefer the ones with the rubber stopper? I'm sure it's a great method - but I can sterilize the media bottle every time I need to use it, and it can come in handy later plus I can always get the sterile sealed vials you're picturing.

Can I use the bacteriostatic water container for such purpose next time I do the micron filtering procedure? Plus, can the luer lock needle really slip on the end of the micron filter? I'm going to try it out with used supplies. *trots to where I keep the used needles*... That's SO COOL! I had no idea man! I gotcha on how that works now. Fuck yeah! I'll probably just get those smaller vials next time w/ the rubber tops.

Final question - how long can you use a vial with a rubber top for?

Haha, ya, i don't know why they didn't just make both ends lock.

The plastic bacteriostatic ones work exactly the same and have the same tops on them. I just empty the water into a sterile metal measuring cup and then do the filtering straight into the vial.

I do like the glass ones better just because of the feel and that they are much clearer so you can make sure your solution isn't getting funky. By the way, i normally take my vial when i get ready to take my shot in the morning and flip it upside down and look and see if i can see anything in it.

When i got cotton fever before i used the bac water i saw very fine particles that would settle and i just thought were some particulate that hadn't been filtered somehow. If you see ANYTHING other than absolutely clear liquid, throw it away immediately.

Since i started using bac water and new needles every time, it has been clear the whole time.

If you shop from researchsupply you can actually get little 2ml or 5ml vials for like $0.75 and are really handy if you need to take a shot during the day (i have a 2ml that i just transfer a little into from my main vial and take it to class when i don't have time to come home, pretty cool actually)

Oops, i didn't even answer your question. Right now i just use a new bacteriostatic vial every time i make a solution but i used a glass vial 3 times and with 31G needles it showed very slight wear on the rubber but i bet they could be used 5+ times as long as you are not introducing unsterile objects, liquid, etc into the solution at any time. I also recommend buying as many supplies as you can at once because both at gpz and researchsupply, the shipping cost starts at $10 and does not go up very much at all regardless of quantity.

Yeah, I definitely want to order from Research Supply but i have very little $ at the moment to get new supplies. I have to wait a while.

"No heroin or short-acting painkillers for at least 4 to 6 hours"

rofl. curious why the suboxone website is handing out such EXCELLENT information to people.

So the guy I bought 5 microns from off ebay says the only .20um he has are for oil based solutions only and won't work for water, he said he would look around to see if he had and .20s meant for water based solution and I told him if he can't find any to give me the .45s. I have never heard of this, are there different types of microns for different solutions and will an "oil .20" really not work with water? It's just a filter, what could be the difference?

I also had a terrifying experience IVing coke and getting a dirty hit which I thought I was about to OD or ODing so now I'm going to be super cautious and go to the exchange today and get sterile water and other gear.

I'm not an expert but this doesn't make sense to me. I don't know how a slight change in density of a liquid can affect the filtering. It just has to do with particle size.

Because for the most part, you only have to wait 4 to 6 hours after a short acting opiate (like IV'd dilaudid). With heroin it is better to wait much longer.

I don't know why the Suboxone website would say that to be honest. Their website isn't 100% correct on a lot of things I am sure.

Yeah there are different kinds of micron filters. I think the PVDF ones are for water based solutions (at least those are the ones I'm using). Which ones did you order? The nylon filters are meant for oil based solutions. You need to order the PVDF ones. This is something I figured out on my own but no one posted about here, so I didn't want to say something and possibly be incorrect about it (seeing as only recently did I first get my microns). PES Filters might work too but I don't know.

You can look at these figures to figure out more.

If you ordered nylon filters then he's just trying to help you out since I think PVDF filters are what you want.

If you look at enough websites, some will sell all the different kinds (more kinds than are on the page I linked to) and that's where I figured out you probably wanted PVDF ones.

Plus, I think you probably did overdose on IV cocaine. That, or it might have been what it was cut with. I know how potent pure cocaine is, and an 8 ball in an "hour or two" is way too much, or it was stepped on. So, IVing unknown substances could have caused the reaction you experienced. It's also very easy to overdo IVing cocaine if you're naive to the bell ringer.

Thanks for the info, is it worth it to get .45s? It is 5 for $18 shipped. If it's not worth it I'll cancel the order and get it all from that site you linked since there is a lot of stuff I want. I think I want the sealable 20mm vials in 10 and 20ml (clear), I'm just confused about all the different kind of stoppers for them and how they work. I already ordered syringes with luer locks and I don't think I need needles for them with the plastic tips they come with for drawing up and aiming into a bottle, even though a big box of needles is cheap I just don't want to have a ton of gear lying around that someone could stumble upon which bring me to the fact that I need some type of lock box/safe.

I think I did OD as well and it wasn't just a dirty hit like a lot of people were saying. It wasn't a full 8 ball, probably 1.5g or so which is still a lot. It scared the shit out of me and I definitely got carried away with the novelty of the bellringer yet I want to do it again (more cautiously). Everyone else said it was probably a dirty hit form using old water but I think it was more likely from the cut or an OD and I'm lucky to be alive.
