Bupe Sub side effects Hypnic jerking before falling asleep

Does anyone else have the side effect. This is the only downfall. Every time I try to nap or fall asleep my body jerks myself awake. It’s an awful feeling that you think you’re going to die or something. Does anyone else deal with Hypnic jerks and what Can I do to get rid of it?

^^^Same here. And not just when attempting to fall asleep. It can happen anytime my body is relaxed.

It sucks because my girlfriend thinks I'm using opiates/oids even when I'm not. Oh well.

This is common even for buprenorphine. You firstly can try turning on your side. Deep breathing can also help. If you track your breathing you may find that these jerks occur in between shallow breaths. If these side effects become uncomfortable you may try lowering your dose or taking your dose in the early AM. Other sedatives even herbal supplements can increase this specific side effect. This can also happen even when you are not on any medication.
