i figure this is a fairly common problem, but i can't find any information on it. hopefully someone with a past experience or knowledge can help.

did x 3 times, a month apart, starting in april. haven't touched it since the middle of june. i started noticing maybe early june that my speech was getting kind of funky. i trip up over my words a lot, find it difficult to think of the word i'm looking for, and stutter (the part that bothers me the most.)

i never had this problem before. i've actually been rather well spoken my entire life. and i don't have this problem in text, none of it comes out until i'm speaking.

is there any way to fix this, outside of a speech therapy type deal?
will it fade away the longer x stays out of my system?

Don't mean to frighten you but still have this problem 5 years after quitting!
It went away for ages (a year or 2) and came back on 6 months ago.

Kinda horrible when your on the phone to customers, words get mixed up and they think you are a moron!
I've tried eating heathily and exercise more than usual and the problem has almost gone (for now)

Still finding troubles finding the right words, i can have normal(ish) conversations but unless the other person is making an effort to keep it flowing i can't find the brain power to remember topics worth talking about.
Basically my vocabulary is way worse than it used to be, have trouble spelling words i've known all my life (get there eventually after much effort)

For most people this sort of stuff goes away pretty quickly but you might be unlucky like me.
I'd seriously consider quitting for good if you don't want to take the risk, it's a gamble. At least quit for months or a couple of years and see if your problem goes away.
Good luck!;)

Stuttering/ can't find the word/lost train of thought....all can be associated with E abuse but I have never heard of it happening after only 3 pills and definately not after only 3 experiences while spacing them out a month apart.

I'm not saying it couldn't happen but I see it as highly (I mean very very rare!!!) unlikely. I think you are just barking up the wrong tree here man.

I just can see so few uses of MDMA causing this issue.

These problems are also associated with getting older, no longer attending school, and stress. I've noticed an on-again-off-again stutter in myself as well as trouble with vocabulary... but I've always had these problems when I've been out of school for a long time or too busy to read or write. It could have to do with the MDMA, but more likely it has to do with your current life style.

If you're worried about it and want to try and reverse it, try reading/writing or take a communications class at a local community college. Or try therapy.

^^^did I stutter?^^"These problems are also associated with getting older,... - dp your parents communicate with grunts and whistles ? The fuck you come up with that pearl of wisdom ?

I and my peers are practically as old as dirt and yet we speak using syntax, grammar, tenses and the whole gambit of verbal communication .

sorry you are fucking daft by design

By getting older, I was referring to no longer going through school or testing your verbal communication on a daily basis. Just like if you don't read on a daily basis your reading speed will get slower. While trying to find where I've heard of this before I found this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluttering

This is more in line with what I've experienced. It got worse when I left school, then better again when I entered college, and now two years after finishing college it's gotten pretty bad. I'm sure this doesn't happen to everyone.

This is only a suggestion to the OP. People tend to blame drugs on all sorts of changes in their bodies/brains but it isn't always the case. Sometimes your body/brain just changes on it's own.

No reason to go insulting me for my suggestion. That alone tells me you're probably not as smart as you're making yourself out to be...

I have a stutter but I've been abusing MDMA. I don't really want to fully blame it on the MDMA but I never really had one before. It could also be like what they what the person above is saying because I recently moved and i haven't really talked much since I don't know anyone out where i live. So whenever i get a phone call i stutter a lot when i talk. I honestly don't like it and I'm glad that I'm finally going back to school in 3 weeks.

I think mabey your thinking about it to much. The more you imagine yourself stuttering whilst talking the more likely it is to happen. Just a thought and yes MDMA could be a cause, but it would take a lot more than three times rolling for that in my opinion.

I think there was a thread about this quite awhile ago.

Your speech issues could be caused by a number of things. If you are stressed or not getting enough sleep, your brain activity is affected. It's also not unheard of for a hard drug like ecstasy to cause a long-term problem like a light stutter.

I have had issues with stuttering/combining or switching words for years. Unlike what was suggested earlier, my speech problems were not caused by a poor education or cavemen parents. I have no issues forming gramatically correct sentences with proper syntax in my head, but sometimes they don't make it through my mouth unscathed....However, since I started using ecstasy (always in a social setting), my social anxiety has lowered significantly, and I am not as stressed out by daily interactions with other people. So in my case, regular use seems to have had a long-term positive effect. Of course, it's probably more psychological, while the OP may be experiencing a more physiological consequence.

Stress will make the most well-spoken people stutter. I'm very overly intellectual and articulate with my speech and I have stuttered in times of stress.

Yeah.. ever since I've started rolling weekly, I notice that I zone out more easily.. and I stutter on occasion.. not a huge problem, but still an effect.

i had this problem for a bit, easy solution- READ. anything you can. pick up magazines, newspapers, or good books. it's essentially a conversation in your head and it works wonders with articulation.

For those who don't think aging has anything to do with how your brain functions:

So yes, in your mid-20s your aging brain will naturally start going through these changes, which might be what the OP is noticing, though he never stated his age. If he's much younger, like in his teens, then I would begin to worry.

Not going to lie, have something similar,
well. sorta.
I smoke a ton of weed.
well not a ton, but you know.
and ive rolled once, plan to again, but lately ive noticed I fuck up my speech and stuff kinda like when im drunk for example...
" I put the wallet in my money"
or " What kind of lemon is that, a fruit?
just like jangled up words/
:P
happened like 3-4 times in the last month

What a thing to look forward to... :(

I actually turned 20 today.

and in response to abusing e, here is a more detailed history:

first time - 2 1/2 clean pills
second time - 3 methy pills
third time - 3 pills from the same batch as the first.

no prior drug use, and i have a scrip for phentermine, but i noticed the problem before that.

i didn't have any problems after the first roll

i think the 2nd bad batch might have a large part to do with it.

and i do read, 2 to 3 books a week.

I was just thinking about this the other day! I've noticed as well when I am at work, speaking with customers or even with my own family/friends, I start to stutter on some words. It isn't horrible but happens once a day or so. You're not the only one & at some point, I rolled once in a 2 week span which I think could be the problem and some of my pills had amp, which I've only popped one.

You're not alone here. =\

Stuttering
Dyslexia (Forgetting what word you meant to say or writing a similar word that you didn't mean to write, or writing on paper the sentence of "The man walked to the bread store and waited in line" may be written "The man to the bred store and walked in line", when it was at its worst it'd be that bad)
Not as good at remembering new things I just learned, and a slightly hurt long term memory,
are all things I blame from using E.

I used too much for a month or two but other than that, I really haven't used that long and usually space it out. Been 9 weeks now and going at least 100 days with this break. Stopping use slowly gets rid of the problems, everything I named has gotten at least a bit better since I stopped. I usually only dropped once when I rolled too, some people just get it worse than others.
