stupidity of man

Hey y'all,

The title of this topic may sound arrogant, but then it is because I refer to another stupidity as usual defined.
I don't refer to intelligence or wisdom. But what plagues me currently, is the question, how it is to explain that the mainpart
of the people are so ignorant, pride and predjudging.
I mean this is not a matter of intelligence or the experiences one has made during his lifetime, it is simply a matter of attitude.
But why do so much people judge one by one's past instead of his presence, why do they prefer lies to the truth, only cause the drama thrills their life a bit up.
Why are they so arrogant to make judgements on topics they have no clue about only they are too pride to confess that their concepts they have on a subject are apparantly wrong.
I mean I see it with my father, one day we had a discussion about heroine. I mentioned that a high age could be reachen living on heroine if the heroine was pure and not contaminated with other chemicals. (I ain't no morphiniste it was just a random discussion).
He claimed that heroine itself would be fatal, I printed out a factsheet on heroine that indicated that it is not heroine itself but the chemicals used to dilute the drug. When I wanted to handle it out to him, he left saying that there was work to be done.
He still lives with the thought that heroine itself would be fatal.
Well I thought about it and came to the conclusion that it might be evolutionary-biologically founded.
I mean wars are often caused by ignorance and pride (patriotism) and the striving for religious, racis or economic superiority.
And now I wonder if it may be possible that those destructive personal traits are simply a method of evolution to limit the growth of mankind alike apoptosis within the cells. That there is a determination to a certain number of human beings and that when that point is about to be excessed that this mechanism will cause wars or starvations that will exterminate the mainpart of the human race for the nature's survival and curing. So to say that mankind will be eliminated by evolution due to it's own fallibility.
What is your thought on that idea?

A UK parliamentary motion once stated that "that humans represent the most obscene, perverted, cruel, uncivilized and lethal species ever to inhabit the planet and looks forward to the day when the inevitable asteroid slams into the earth and wipes them out thus giving nature the opportunity to start again." =D

Misanthropia aside, its generally a rule that old people are more prone to holding the same beliefs and refusing to change as opposed to younger ones. That could explain why your father acted the way he acted. I don't like to attribute to Evolution a teleological intent ( "method of evolution to limit the growth of mankind"); physics as well as science agrees that natural selection reflects both the tendency towards entropy and a search for equilibrium, which some can see respectively in the tendency for man to be disorganized and brutal, and "wars or starvations that will exterminate the mainpart of the human race". Man in the end is not the center of not even his own mind, much less nature. Nature will survive regardless of man's actions, for it has never been under the control of Man. We've had mass extinctions, huge geological and meteorological cataclysms caused by internal and external agents way before prehistoric man learned how to walk. The only thing under threat is man's survival. Can man stave off his extinction? You would think that since he was blessed with the gift of consciousness ("God"-given or the result of some dialectical-ontological-evolutionary process lol), he would be able to. However this doesn't appear to be so, as we can see throughout history in which man never learns from his mistakes, that his individuality appears to be illusory, and he has a tendency to seek his own destruction. In the end, man, like all animals, need to adapt or die out, but if he were to go extinct, it wouldnt be that serious a matter.

^In my opinion, and you touched on it when you mentioned our seeming inability to stave off extinction, man needs to still adapt to the social climate that mankind creates. It's being able to a point to a problem, and it's source, and having people agree about both things, and about how to solve it. A single man might be able to logically conclude the correct answer, but when large crows are involved then feelings gain greater importance and must be accounted for when negotiating a solution. This causes problems of people denying science and loads of other political and social problems.

OP, is your father, who's providing you with food, stupid for simply acknowledging the possibility of overdose, or are you for thinking he's stupid that there are more important actions to be taken than simply giving the stamp of approval to heroin in a pointless discussion?

IME/O the "everybody is stupid" crowd tends to be the most blind group of people I've EVER met. IMO in order to be truly open minded, you have to be more-or-less closed off to certain things, or else you have no foundation against which to judge and make sense of the world around you. People who take everything as is, if they aren't buddhist saints, are known as gullible, which unconsciously closes them off to much more of the truth than people who are willingly closed off from parts of it.

Although I'm not too excited about your example, I think I agree with your thesis. I do believe most everyone is in fact becoming stupider throughout the generations.
Take mathematics for example. It is taught in the worst way possible and is stripped of the truth seeking journey it is meant for. Instead to be "successful" you must take vigorous notes and memorize these rules and notations in order to regurgitate them on a test. Anyone can memorize something if they force themselves to carve it in their brains, but at the end of the day they aren't going to understand the difference between five sets of seven is the same as seven sets of five because they've only memorized 5x7=7x5. But what good is this argument if one only knows it because they were trained to know it just because rather than knowing what it actually means.

Now that the world of information has been globalized, the right thing to do has become standardized. Everyone must pass the same standardized test to graduate. Everyone must abide by a standard set of laws because that's doing things right in a view that was once successful. God forbid you think for yourself when you can just memorize a set of procedures in order to be successful.

But that's a fairy tell. It's like hopeful children in India preparing a story to tell their officials on why they should be chosen to study abroad for free in America. It's a very selective process, so i've read, and only the most equipped applicants are chosen and usually require a creative and unique situation because they all posses the same academic skills. Once a successful story is heard for the first time, its heard thousands of times immediately after that. What was once right doesn't mean its going to be right the next day, people are different and no one wants to accept that. We are all equal and deserve our rights, but that's like saying everyone wins a trophy because we will just negotiate a tie instead of a fight, the losing team doesn't deserve to struggle. The coaches would emphasize memorizing tactics, plays and fundamentals before they even think about stepping on the field, while he tells himself how much they are going to excel and be such great players once they learn the standards first. But once they are done memorizing, all the students are too bored and unfascinated by the sport that they move on, making everything they learned pointless.

Were in the present, training in a way which was successful in the 17th century. All this impersonal testing, false pride bullshit isn't taking anyone anywhere. We have finally found a way to cure curiosity and become stale, boring unadventurous beings.

just my opinion going through college.

people are stupid because our brain is the last thing that evolved in our bodies

if i divide the human thinking process in 6 stages ill talk about 1- anal, 2 - sexual, 3 - guts, 4 - heart (emotional), 5 - lungs (expression, speach), 6 - brain (mind, thinking)

so on level 1 you can be a ass, being anal is about not letting go, but its poop, its not letting go of some bullshit and thats makes you a ass
on level 2 is thinking with your sex and that makes you a dick or a bitch, its about being territorial, possessive and controlling for the sake of your own survival (food) and the survival of the species (sex)

eh... im talking about being unbalance here, because you do need a anus and sexual organs and its good to think with your dick or else we would stop reproducing
its all about balance but if you cant be well balance and you end up putting too much energy in your anus youll end up being a ass, but being too much in your head is just as bad

on level 3 you think with your guts, you go by gut feeling
level 4 you get emotional and you can get impulsive
level 5 you talk, you communicate, you express yourself
level 6 you think , analyze

each level gets more complex and they all give you feedback on your situation, and you need to adjust yourself with the information you are receiving from those 6 level, but those feedback influence your thinking process, which is to say your behavior, and if people act stupid its because the last level of the brain is the most complex one but people are using their brains, they can open a door and write their name and do calculus...
but for instance it aint because that you think you should stop smoking that youll do it, or start training and eat better
you know some people who dont understand evolution will say that "well if we evolved from monkeys than why are there still monkeys around ???" hehe
it aint because a brain evolved in us that we have lost what came before, we still are mainly made out of water, and we still mainly are a digestive tube who needs food...

so people are stupid in their brain because they have a lot more on their mind, they need to think with their butt, with their dick, with their guts, with their heart, with their lungs before having time to think with their brain and they usually loose balance before getting there
and if they dont spend much time in their head well then they dont do much of that thinking on a conscious level, they just react to their environment, we are all on a different level of personal evolution, we may all be evolved monkeys we aint all evolved humans ; )
