stupid methadone question

oh come on, this is like the people who ask if people can get high off smoking Xanax. Its placebo but we will never be able to convince you. Believe me, the person trying to smoke it will swear that there are effects. Some people will probably come by and say yeah, you can get high smoking pills. My opinion, no. I tried smoking Dexedrine and have tried smoking Valium (I know dumb) but never got anything from it. I've never smoked Methadone so couldn't tell you for sure but assume you couldn't.

But why are you doing that? Just because your addicted to smoking things? The oral bioavailability is higher. Its around 80 % orally and snorting Methadone is lower so smoking most likely is as well. But even if someone its higher than 80 % it could only be possibly 5% more but I believe its lower.
 
Trying to chase the idea of a methadone high is pointless and can be dangerous.

I have been on it for a long time and it doesn't work as well with any ROA other than oral. Anything else is just a waste.

Even taking a higher oral dose will not make you feel any better, just give you a headache and/or put you to sleep. On top of that you will suffer the consequences that come with your body expecting a higher dose or you will kill yourself trying to chase a high that doesn't really exist.

Just take your dose normally.
 
no such thing as a stupid question man, your probably better off smoking it anyhow, that way it probably wont kick in.

i sometimes keep one nights dose under my tongue... take it out than take 10mg and keep the rest for the next day and get a nice feeling off 170mg methadone in one go, so yeah there is a point taking a higher dose

thanks k-d out for an honest answer.... rehab can make u do some crazy things to get high, but now i got some spliffy its all chill, no need to smoke, chase, shoot, or snort (all bad ideas really) my medication...

except loprazolam, which when sniffed or when shot (2mg) gives a nice chillout feeling
 
What form is the methadone you were smoking? The 10mg pills? I assume (and certainly hope) that it wasn't the liquid lol. I have never tried to smoke methadone, but I agree that when I double my dose I do get a nice glow and mild euphoria, for most of the day. Personally it definitely increases the effects, and i have been taking methadone daily now for around 1.5 years.
 
I've taken twice my daily dose and not felt any better at all......most people report the same...

If you think its helping you its most likely placebo
