There have been two occasions where I have taken what I thought was LSD. The first time, being pretty experienced with acid, I absolutely knew that it was not LSD. This was last summer, at a music festival, and it was a bad, bad time. The second time, was this past New Years Eve.

I have recently come to learn that the sources of these chemicals have been buying RC's and passing them off as LSD. Not cool. Not cool.

I have never acquired things in enough quantity to be able to perform a chemical test. Hell, the only tests I knew of until recently were for Ecstasy. So...how do you test something when you only get a couple of hits? Or, how do you know how to stay safe from random chemicals that you have no idea about? Even when knowing your source, you don't necessarily know THEIR source.

RC's kind of freak me out. The more I read, the more wary I become of taking any.
Now I'm kind of leery of taking anything being passed off as LSD, and that makes me a sad panda. :(

Only way around being scared of what you got is to buy large enough batch to test and start slow with.
Last LSD I had four hits of it. Tested one first and it was perfect. no taste, laughing lightly here and there, good body feeling an it was done in six hours. Very clean and nothing bad about it. No hangover, no bad trip, no nothing.
Was definitely sure I could handle two, and two felt perfect.

Work your way up and start slow or use one of those test kits.
No rush to totally screw yourself up and end up in the hospital even though you only have one or two tabs. Try your best to buy several every time you get the connect. Don't waste your time buying one or two of something your going to be scared to take.

Also try and buy from somebody trustworthy. That helps a lot.

Treat this stuff same way you'd treat a new baggie of shrooms. Just try a cap or two first no need to eat the whole bag right away.
Test the waters.

BTW
Some RC's are actually fairly respectable and you may want to try if you have tried and like LSD... but sounds like you guys need more education about them first.
You and the guys selling you bunk shit.

In the long run, LSD is a research chemical.

greed is a bastard :/

In the long run, LSD is a research chemical.

That's good advice. And yeah, years ago, when I was twenty one, my then boyfriend and I took bromo-dragonfly together. His uvula swelled up, and we ended up going to the emergency room, tripping face (cool story, bro). Long story short, it was also a bad time.

When it comes to RC's I don't even know where to begin to start learning. On Erowid there's always that biohazard symbol on any of the research chemicals, and if Erowid is all, "no, really, this could be really bad", then its hard for me to get interested in learning.

In any event. LSD may be a research chemical, but its been tried and tested, again and again, clinically, governmentally, institutionally, etc. And there are still studies on its therapeutic effects being conducted in Europe. So we know what it does, we know the short and long term effects, and we can look at that with scientific certainty. Of course YMMV, but as far as a chemical goes, its properties are known.

With most RC's, its been my understanding that once its been established that they have no medical value, all of the testing, in any of the above settings, is scrapped. So we don't know the long term effects. We don't know if years down the line it can trigger latent psychosis, or cardio degradation, or any other physical effect. And because there are so many unknowns, its hard for me to get all, "OOh pretty colors" about them.

Not that I'm not open to learning! Because this shit is really interesting :)
