Students for Sensible Drug Policy - Australia

@fortehlulz

an australian branch of LEAP is sorely needed...

Abso-fucking-lutely. Fortehlulz, you seem like the best person to ask about this one. What's the deal with Australian LE agents speaking out (or not speaking out, as the case may be) against prohibition?

I was planning on Curtin if they hadn't just terminated my enrolment, so i'll probably work through a friend as a puppet for yeah, either Curtin or UWA.

Ouch why'd they do that for?

Well if its Curtin I'd be up for helping out if I can. Nothing too public however, the unfortunate reality is that my job prospects would be dented if I did that.

With the way Victoria is in terms of police who criticize anything publicly (with the Ethical Standards Department recently taking months and spending thousands of dollars on audio analysis to identify a senior member who paid out on force command on talk back radio under a pseudonym, then charge him with disciplinary offenses), not good.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy - Sydney, Australia

Hi All,

If you disagree with present drug laws in Australia such as the use of sniffer dogs in public places, then I encourage you to join the facebook group Students for Sensible Drug Policy - Sydney, Australia (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=info&gid=337839094510)

You don't need to be a drug user or a student to be part of this group. If you're not from Sydney, we encourage you to join, as we'd like to have this eventually evolve into an Australia-wide group.

Much Love

V

If a Melbourne one did show up I would try to help out where I could, but shuffling it between uni and work I don't think I'd have as much time as I'd like to =(

Students for Sensible Drug Policy established at Victoria University

Hi everyone,

For those interested SSDP is now established at Victoria University in Melbourne. If you're a student (even if you're not a student) and are interested in getting involved, hit us up on Facebook. We'll keep you posted on activities and meetings throughout the semester.

If you're interested in starting a chapter at your own institution, contact [email protected], facebook or get in touch with our US counterparts at http://www.ssdp.org

Cheers

Just joined your groups, interesting! I'm happy to see Australian news coming to my news feed :)
So far I only get news from nimbin's pages, which is mostly American.

It's really hard to find otu what's happening in Australia, when I live on the internet, to get my daily news updates.
I'm not in University, yet! But next year I'll try get more involved :)

For anyone who wants to help out I need a volunteer to film a debate we are holding in May featuring Dr Alex Wodak at Victoria University and someone to help design some flyers. Any takers?
