^Agreed.
Clonazepam has the longest duration of action of any benzo I can think of, it lasts much longer than Diazepam's misleadingly longer half life. Klonopin (clonazepam) is felt for good 12 hours, with afterglow effects up to a good 24 hours, whereas diazepam wears off in only 6-8 hours, with a 4-6 hour afterglow. Clonazepam is a chlorinated derivative of nitrazepam (a powerful hypnotic benzo), which means this chloro-nitrobenzodiazepine is a seriously underrated benzo in terms of effects potency and the sheer destruction of anxiety and panic attacks.
The slow onset and even slower peak (t:+4 hours) makes it an attractive benzo to be prescribed by psychiatrists, due to the lower recreational potential compared to other benzos approved for panic attacks, due to the extremely long duration, making once-daily dosing possible therapeutically possible, whereas a single dose diazepam is not therapeutically active for a full 24 hours, making it usually dose 2-3 times a day... clonazepam is sometimes referred to as "the valium of the 2010's," due to its dosing versatility and appeal to physicians relative to its benzo siblings.
