Hobart Huson AKA Strike.

We all know who strike is. No introduction is required.

When I read his books and watched the dateline NBC interview theres something about it all that just doesn't seem quite right.

Strike was the Ecstasy King of America.

He had everything. Then you watch him dissolve before your very eyes.

I watch the interviews and it all seems so unbeleivable.

I feel there is much more to the story. More than what we are lead to beleive.

Does anyone know where he is these days? Whats he doing?

Important! This is NOT a synthesis discussion thread...

hardly the king of MDMA. he was a big figure in clandestine chemistry but I don't know of any evidance that he distributed MDMA. All he did was distribute knowledge. he was busted for shady business practices...that coupled with the hive where he openly told people how to make illegal drugs with chems that could be bought at his store was all that old uncle sam needed to make an example of him.

less King of MDMA and more sad statistic of a fail drug policy

Hello Matt

Cheers for your input.

Do you think that dateline story is genuine? Do you think the whole Strike thing is genuine?

I have heard many rumors about this.

Some say the Hive was a DEA sting.

I mean theres a few things here that when you look at it dont really make any logical sense.

A book to tell you where to 'secretly' buy precursor chemicals without being busted by the cops sold at Amazon
A website where you can interact with users, build relationships, post pictures about how you are manufacturing drugs. (this was a great way to sniff real cooks)
An industrial glassware and safrol dealer allowing video taping and finalises a 2K deal in front of the camera
He airs his disapproval by turning his back and smiling
Degree level students who document their drug taking and road to manufacture MDMA also on video tape
A fluffy bee on Strikes computer during the interview
A chem store where the author announces he lives in texas, registers his books in texas and sells chemicals in texas
A chem store owner with long hair, earings and an underground history

I honestly would not be surprised if the whole thing was a setup.

I couldnt see how anyone in their right mind would operate in this way without some kind of unknown motive.

The DEA at the time published a document with the following title:

An Evaluation of the Potential for Clandestine Manufacture of 3,4-Methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) Analogs and Homologs

In my opinion this is a far more comprehensive and well written drug manufacture guide than any of Strikes books.

The DEA at the time were clearly happy to publish this information. Why stop with this why not be the hive?

Not to be a party pooper, but this isn't harm reduction material.

This would make for some good chat in our social forum, The Cuddle Puddle.

If there are more recent media articles relating to Strike, which you could add to this thread, I could reopen it and send it to the Drugs and the Media forum.
