I doubt it was strychnine. I do believe there are tabs that float around here and there that idiots dip in strychnine because they hear rumors and believe that's how you make acid or you can trip on it.
The more realistic scenerio is that the LSD was handled poorly, possibly diluted in tap water or exposed to heat while being carried in someones pocket. That causes the LSD molecules to decompose and become unstable, so not only is it weak, but has unpleasant physical effects. The only reason I think this is more realistic is because wannabe drug dealers aren't known for making decent efforts even to create bullshit drugs, so it's unlikely some faggot kid is going to go and not only find a source of, but actually go through with buying strychnine.
It takes a relatively large quantity of strychnine in milligrams as compared to the LSD to feel any real effects. I think it's something like 10mgs to get a real strychnine "trip". It's suppossed to be really unpleasant and nothing like LSD. But I don't know anyone who's knowingly or willingfully ingested a large dose, personally. I've only read about it.
The effects of a low dose should only really be slight muscle tension and aches, light headedness, stiff joints and if anything should only mimic the feelings you get from LSD before it kicks in.
And so you know, strychnine, or Strick 9 as you call it, does NOT help the LSD bond with the blotter. It only waste space that could be containing LSD.
Here is my theory on how the rumor got started. If you take liquid LSD that is diluted in distilled water, or worse yet, tap water, it will evaporate from the blotter within 48 to 72 hours and the tabs will either become VERY weak or inneffective all together. So someone comes up with the idea that you can get some mild effects by putting strychnine on paper. Infact, maybe the person thinks it's actually helping the LSD stick because the effects are noticeable after soaking the blotter days later, when really the feelings are nothing more than the strychnine itself. As stupid drug rumors go, it flies and wannabe drug dealers with no real connections or money try to make their own batches this way not realizing they might as well just sell the drops individually or just give up on dealing until they are a bit more mature about it than 7th graders.
