I take oxycodone and adderall everyday unprescribed. I just got perscribed straterra for add ( trying to get my on adderal ) and I'm thinking about starting it to see if it helps at all. Would I have any interactions taking my 2 unprescribed drugs if I started on the strattera ?

Thanks

I don't think oxycodone would interact with the Strattera of the top of my head, however, I would not mix Adderall and Strattera, as they're both CNS stimulants and you only really need one or the other to treat ADHD.

I thought straterra wasn't a stimulant ?

i dont think their would be any dangerous interactions but you wouldnt be able to tell if the strattera was working for your add if your on adderall at the same time. i would think youd feel the adderall more being a stimulant and all. strattera will make you all sleepy and mellow where as adderall will do the opposite.

Strattera is an NRI, and it can be stimulating. I was actually prescribed Strattera and Adderall together at one point. My psychiatrist slowly titrated the dosage of my Adderall up and eventually took me off the Strattera altogether though. I didn't experience any negative side effects while taking the two together. Regardless, Neighborhood Threat makes a good point - you really only need one or the other to treat ADD.
