Strattera and Cocaine?!

Has anyone here had an experience with these two drugs?
I was recently prescribed Strattera to treat anxiety and a learning disability...
I do however enjoy drinking alcohol and doing cocaine every once in a while when I go out... I haven't done any blow since I started taking the strattera.

I can't seem to find any relevant info on this anywhere on the web!

Strattera is a non-stimulant w/ little risk of abuse/misuse, so it should/could be safe... However, it IS a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, meaning it can increase blood pressure, increase anxiety, alertness, awareness, etc. I've never heard of it being prescribed for anxiety, only saw some very very short-lived trials to treat depression (not effective).

Strattera takes at least a week to build up in the system and start to work for ADHD so you may not be noticing its effects just yet anyway...

Monitor yourself closely while on Strattera, many many adverse side effects reported, w/ suicidal tendencies being the worst (although this was mainly in adolescents)

Back to the coke... Always be careful mixing w/ alcohol (check out this thread http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=457980) And if you're prescribed Strattera for ADHD then it may not have stimulus-like effects for you. Just see how you feel after taking a smaller dose/line than normal and take it from there. If your heart rate, BP feel too high, or you get nausea, dizzy, etc I'd say stop the cocaine use. It'll add a lot of stimulation (and possibly cardiac danger amongst other things) and little to no recreational effect. I'd expect general tweakiness, jitters, sweats, etc.

If you want to do coke, skip your strattera that day, and you should probably skip it the day before as well. You don't want to put all that stress on body.

I'm 27 now, but was diagnosed as ADHD as a child... around the age of 7 I think?
I used to take ritalin through elementary school up until the end of college, but discontinued treatment when I was 24.
Having a bit of a struggle at work prompted me to find a doc to see about long term treatment, but his diagnosis is that I do not have ADHD, just moderate to severe anxiety and a "significant learning disability" whatever that means, but he did mention that the he was treating the anxiety off-label with the strattera... I do trust this guy, as he has been very very thorough with me, more so than any other doctor I have seen... much better than the last neurologist I saw for 5 minutes, then prescribed me this terrible anti-depressant (effexor) I felt like absolute garbage, no improvement at all. I hate being bogged down!
but anyways yeah, just wanted to play it safe!
PS thanks for the info on mixing with booze, I have heard to take caution, but I never really new a lot of the risks... that thread is very informative, and this place has been so great!

So if I experience a loss of the actual recreational effect, would that also occur if I skipped doses a day or so before I use?
I LIKE blow but I can go without it, no sense in wasting a bundle of cash on a little bag of white powder if it's only going to make me tweak and bug out LOL
If this will be the case, I will just take the strattera as directed until my life and productivity improves, or until I feel I'm in a comfortable spot , whichever comes first!

I researched this combo a bunch before trying it - nothing online.

Basically, I've mixed the two a few times. Overall observations:
Definitely don't feel as much of a rush. I've had to do larger amounts to get any effect. It also generally makes the effect more of a "slow burn" - i.e. slower, longer. I wouldn't say it's unpleasant, but just really not that great. Sort of like Wellbutrin + Coke (makes sense as Strat and Wellbutrin both work on Neureprinephrine).

Tried it last night, noticed a very fast pulse but minimal effects. Had to do several bumps (almost half a G) to feel an effect though my body seemed to be responding more physiologically than mentally (i.e. quick pulse etc but little actual stimulated feeling).

Waste of money imo. If you stop strat the day before you get almost a normal effect.

I did this once, fucking amazing it was the first time I even did a gram of coke, had some stattera earlier that day. All I remember the first bumps where too strong feeling but fucking mindblowing. later when I became tollerated I had a fucking good one, amazing music appreciation. The crash was like being in purgitory with personal deamons right at my heals, just very breifly stim psychotic. It was amazing, best coke high ever.

Really???? I just started taking Strattera and have been taking it 4 days so far and I just did approx a gram and I felt it(5 iv shots and 2 lines over about 2 hour period).....but it was missing the "rush". There was alot of adulterants in the cocaine....so it might have been weak, but i did a big shot at the end and had that anxiety feeling like "OMG IM GOING TO DIE, I NEED TO GO KNOCK ON NEIGHBOURS DOOR TO HAVE THEM DRIVE ME TO ER!!!" lol, but it passed in about 4 min and i was fine...

In microdialysis studies it increased NE and DA levels by 3 fold in the prefrontal cortices but did not alter DA levels in the striatum or nucleus accumbens.[10] Atomoxetine also acts as an NMDA-receptor antagonist at clinically relevant doses.[11] The role of NMDA-receptor antagonism in atomoxetine's therapeutic profile remains to be further elucidated; however recent literature has further implicated glutaminergic dysfunction as central in ADHD pathophysiology and etiology[citation needed]. Atomoxetine has little affinity for serotonergic, cholinergic, and adrenergic receptors.[12]

So in my opinion strattera makes cocaine weaker and isn't a good mix... but I would like to hear the scientific side..
