Strangest DMT trip I've ever had.

I had such a bizarre DMT experience that I figured a trip report was necessary. Has something like this happened to anyone else?

At about midnight I grabbed the meth pipe I use for DMT. There was still plenty of resin inside so I didn't reload it. I turned the lights off and took two large hits under my covers, holding in the vapor as long as I could. The usual warmth was replaced by a sort of ominous buzzing around my spine. Immediately this very imposing blackness with a pyramid structure pointing to the center took over my vision. I felt a distinctly evil energy. I opened my eyes and several inky monolithic structures crowded the room. I immediately turned on my lights and to my complete confusion, I didn't appear to be in my room. While my things were recognizable, they didn't look right at all. It was like a cartoon. I then for no reason tried to put on some pants and the jeans I had laying on the floor seemed to just be a loop of denim. I looked in my drawer for another pair, tried to put one on and it looked like it was meant to fit a child. I kept pulling out jeans and none of them looked like mine. Things slowly started looking normal again and some very nice amber and violet patterns splashed off of my drapes and the grill cloth of one of my guitar amplifiers. In something like 70 DMT experiences, I think this was the closest I've come to a bad trip. I half wish I took a few more hits. I'm not sure if it would have become a nightmare or an amazing breakthrough. Either way, I stumbled into a fascinating place.

Sounds like a typical strong DMT trip. Where you went wrong was by trying to assert reality mid-trip by turning on the lights, looking at pants, basically by paying any attention to the outer world. DMT makes it feel like reality has just been replaced by a new one, even if everything looks exactly the same. It's very strange, almost similar to dissociatives. DPT does something similar.

I've had a similar 'strange' trip where immediately after recognizing that this trip wasn't like most others I decided to look around and everything looked very different and stuff still looked like it was slightly a different color for like 15 minutes.

I tried to get back to that place today, I wish I had walked through the fear to see what was on the other side. This seems like what Terrence McKenna talked about when he explained the first hit. He talks about this tremendous feeling of weirdness and the initial reflex is to stop. I've been experimenting with slowly inhaling and exhaling, only inhaling DMT for the entire time I smoke. But recently I've taken to holding it in as long as possible. I really want to experience a breakthrough and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. My usual DMT trips are 3 stages. Stage one is beautiful giant phrenetic moving beings, stage two is beautiful slowly moving patterns and stage 3 is washes of color.

I've found that holding in the DMT for longer makes for much longer trips. I had a trip lasting about 40 minutes yesterday. I've been trying to think of the exact conditions leading up to the strange trip. The two unusual things were that I smoked after masturbating, and I had some anxiety of being caught by parents. The anxiety perhaps led to the scary monolithic presence. I'm wondering if whatever leftover pleasure chemicals were flushing my brain had something to do with the abnormally strong trip (especially for only 2 hits).
