Heroin Strange smell after injecting

I'm not even sure the two are related, but I'm getting a strong whiff of some strange smell every 20 seconds or so, and this is about an hour after injecting. I know there's a usual whiff of the stuff once you shoot, but that passed, and this is different. Has anyone experienced this? I'm scratching my head over whether it's the product or whether there's something cooking in the neighborhood. It doesn't seem to have an external source.

edit: My bad, I think I discovered the source. :\ This bowl of rotting peanut butter and chocolate. Lol sorry plz delete.
 
well... don't know about anyone else but IV morphine always gave me a metallic taste and a sweet smell that would come and go throughout the high. however i'm epileptic and i've had these olfactory and gustatory hallucinations even when sober.
