Hi there.

i recently have had dental work fixing my teeth. i'm waiting for my next dental appointment and to stop my toothache i'm taking neurofen +, however tonight i'm having a strange reaction to it. i feel like i'm speeding. i never expected this reaction to happen.
should i stop taking the n+?

I sure did when they quit making them splitable a few years back and found a way to mix the two ingredients.

Yes Codeine can cause wakefullness/insomnia, some ppl with narcolepsy find it helps.

I use to get speedy effects off Valium, if i had a decent sized dose. When I use to take around 30mg on a low tolerance it would heavily sedate me but once the peak effects wore off after afew hours I would become "speedy" like I railed some meth. Maybe it could be the same thing happening to you depending on when you took them?

What dosage did you take? If more than a therapeutic dose, did you cold water extract? Are you on any other medications at the moment or were you using any other substances?

I have experienced a sort of buzzy effect at recreational doses of around 300mg+, but I would describe it as more euphoric than speedy. Also wakefullness when trying to sleep after the peak has worn off, but again it's more of a nod than being restlessly awake.

I find codeine gives me a small period of feeling very stimulated just as it kicks in. When I first feel it I"ll feel rather speedy, want to talk to people, get up, dance around etc. Once it kicks in fully, I become sedated and relaxed, as is typical with opiates.

Only if you don't like speeding? ;) Is it taking away the pain?

I find nurofen plus superb for dental pain - and also sinus pain. When I have very severe pain I take two nurofen plus along with one or two panadeine (or pain tablets) - pain gone.
