Strange reaction to MDxx. ???

Hi all...

Just a quick query about how I seem to react these days to pills, md caps, or the like.
I've been taking these things for a few years now, and I love(d) it. Every time I had any (decent) stuff, I would have a great night full of euphoria and loved-up-ness.
Now I know what you're all gonna say; "The stuff around now is not as good as it was back then". Well, I do have some experience in this stuff and I know a dud when I get one.

Everything was good up until new years (2009-2010). I had a brown cK (which I had had before then, and it was great), after about 30 mins I started to feel tingly and good. Typical effects of MDxx started to come on; euphoria, can't stand still, teeth clenching, loved-up, loving the music and atmosphere, etc.

However, my stomach continued to feel tight, and I felt nausious. But it wasn't your typical nausia. My head was going nuts (in a good way), loving the music, etc. But my stomach didn't feel right. As I got closer to the stage, the bass in the music seemed to make me want to vomit.

New years was the first time this happened and I just thought it was bad pills. Then it happened again at the start of Feb on the same stuff, thought, ok, same pills is to be expected. Then I took some MD Caps last friday night and again.... same thing. Felt unreal in the head, but bad in my stomach. Different stuff, is it just me?

Seems that any form of MDxx I take now has the same effect.

Has anyone else had anything like this? And how can I make it stop? I want to go back to loving the music and not feeling sick!

I am about to graduate and have a big night planned in october, and don't want to feel this way again.

Thanks in advance.

Do you normally feel alright after a chuck? It is very common, I have plenty of mates who need a quiet chunder before the night gets started for them. Obviously not always convenient so perhaps you should consider plugging your pills to avoid this.

yeah if your stomache's not handling it well then plugging it is the way to go yo. gets rid of the nausious and the stomache aches :)

do a forum search on Plugging and u'll find the bestest way to do it :)

As Busty mentioned it's pretty common to feel a bit queasy on MDMA. Some things you could try are:

* Ginger (as mentioned, thanks Mr Blonde),
* Plugging (also mentioned, cheers Busty & headdah),
* Not taking pills on an empty stomach,
* Not drinking alcohol,
* Staying appropriately hydrated and being mindful of over-heating,
* Taking an antacid (note: one with magnesium may also reduce bruxism, however I recall p_d mentioning that altering your urine PH can slow the metabolism and elimination and hence increase toxicity),
* Try other antiemitics like dimenhydrinate (travacalm), promethazine (phenergan), metoclopramide (anagraine).

(can anyone confirm whether the above are safe to take with either MDMA or other common actives/adulterants in pills? If not I'll edit them out of my post)

^ Dimenhydrinate has effects on serotonin I believe, in fact it is a substance that led to the development of one of the first SSRI antidepressants if I remember correctly. That may be dangerous to combine with MDMA, I'm not sure.

I chuck on the come-up everytime I have a proper dose of MDMA/MDA. After that I'm good to go. Some people just have weaker stomachs.

I'm also lactose intolerant and recon that sometimes it's the lactose (as filler) in the pill that sets me off... I could be wrong though, I don't know how common it is as a filler.

I recommend an antacid aswell. It helps alot if you can get your hands on one. A little cannabis will also sort out any nausea you have. I don't smoke but when I'm on MD it's the only thing that gets rid of the nausea.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

But I have a question.
Why is it that this only started at the beginning of the year?
Before that I never had this queezy feeling in my stomach.
Just began at the start of this year and since then stays the same.

i think you're mixed up with diphenhydramine, though i may be. it definitely is one or the other that led to the creation of prozac.

we had a q in OD the other day asking whether it was ok to take a dose of DPH after tramadol and i had to mention DPH has low SRI properties and may cause an interaction - possible seretonin syndrome, though unlikely. the risk in combining the two (DPH and tramadol) is more in elderly and debilitated patients and inscreased sedation.

Sometimes when u have too much of something ur body just says that's enough and rejects it. Good daily exercise and a good consistant diet and maybe even a break should help. Plugging is what I'd also try though, low dose first though.

When i first did pills id never get sick then for like a good year or 2 id throw up every time and feel like shit for at least a little bit but sometimes all night then it just went away and i dont get sick when i do them anymore

Might have something to do with your body beginning to reject the substance somewhat after a long period of (ab)use. I've seen that suggested by other forum heads as a possible cause of chemmy spewing. Also could be how full/empty your stomach is when you take it, and also whether its MDE/A/MA - one of these brands of MDxx in particular could be the culprit perhaps?

It's been proposed the nausea with MDMA is due to it binding with 5HT3 receptors in the stomach. It could be that some people over express these, or it maybe due to other lifestyle or dietary factors. There's been lots of past threads here on this. UTSE

I *sometimes* get nausea, this is generally associated with, ime, MDEA.

MDA/MA don't generally make me sick, and if there is to be any spewing, it's a quick chuck in the backyard, and im good for the rest of the night.
