Strange question

Does anyone have an experience where anytime they use opioids they end up with a bloody nose.

This has occurred over the past year. It seems any amount of opioids or any type of opioids I use my nose, ends up, bleeding quite a bit

I've tried to do some research on this and I found no correlation, but does anyone have any thoughts on this?

i'm assuming you aren't snorting or would've wrote about that. it would be pretty obvious you might be damaging your nose if you are snorting

is it when you start to come down from the high or while you are high when you get the nose bleed? if it's when you are coming down, i'm gonna say that's because of anxiety/raise in blood pressure from withdrawl causing your blood to flow a certain way and you probably have a small crack in the vein in your nose that opens up cause of the blood flow... i definitely used to get bloody noses from anxiety all the time.. i used to box as a kid, so i had problems with bloody noses for years. what i describe is my basic understanding of what i was told by doctors.. you could hit your nose like just once as a child or something and it didn't heal the right way or maybe you could've picked boogers or something and caused damage that way......... if you are experiencing the bloody noses during your high, that doesn't really make sense to me, because i assume you'd be relaxed...

i don't know if what i'm writing is truth. just kind of guessing.. i definitely have gotten bloody noses cause of anxiety though... they were going to have to cauterize the veins in my nose a kid cause on of them kept busting open all the time.

No, I am definitely not snorting it. That would be a no-brainer if I was lol

It is actually the entire time I am on the opioids usually starts about an hour or so in and then last several weeks ( I have legitimate prescription so I am using two weeks on two weeks off) it concerns me because I am highly anemic to begin with so losing blood kind of freaks me out

I was a heavy meth user in my teens early 20s so I would assume I probably have some nasal damage but haven't touched the stuff in over 20 years

@Virgogirl619, i dunno. that sounds concerning. i am not a doctor, so i cannot say.. if your nose has been bleeding that much, you need to see a doctor or maybe if stopping opiates works, you might need to do that... i really don't know. that sounds concerning... i was hoping you just had small bloody noses when withdrawing and that's probably a common thing... your story sounds more concerning.

Don't really think stopping the opioids are an option, I do take them for a medical need, although obviously not as prescribed. I tried cutting down on amounts once and just taking them dosage wise like I am prescribed and I still had the bleeding issue. I don't know if somehow it thins out my blood or if it is somehow related to the fact that I am already anemic. I was just hoping maybe somebody around here had a similar experience.

Maybe it’s just the way it’s written or I’m reading it wrong but are you saying the nosebleed lasts several weeks?

I don’t know what kind of anemia you have and I’m not well informed on anemia but I know it can cause nosebleeds. Maybe it’s that plus some weird reaction to the opiates but I can’t think why, but I’m not a doctor.

I think best thing is to talk to your doctor. Obviously don’t mention you’re abusing your script but just say you’re getting it at normal dosage (not even a lie cause you say you do). He might prescribe like tranexamic acid or something like that. There’s options for frequent nosebleeds and if it’s affecting your treatment surely they’ll do something.
