Opioids Strange Oxy IR tabs with the longest legs.

There are these 5mg IR codone tabs which are an enigma to me. 20-40 mg will hit with that warm body and facial flush for about an hour depending on the length between dosages, however the legs seem to last for 6-12 hours. I have never experienced this before except with methadone, but this is less continual. Also, after about 5 hours a headache sets in and an unsteady dizziness comes and goes. It's great for an hour to 3 but then feels like I've been off for a day or two. I'm curious what's up with these. Also, redosing is a waste if done within 8 hours of the initial dose, similar to high doses of vicodin, perc, oxy norm, etc. Anyone experienced this before?

just sounds to me that something must have altered your tolerance that specific day. Back when i used to partake in OxyContin (the original formula), i could snort an entire 80 one day and barely feel it...then the next day snort 40 and be fucked up? I don't know everyone is different.

^ "Legs" is a term used to describe the duration of a drug, so saying that it has long legs means it lasts a long time. It certainly isn't a problem. :)

I agree with LOGan that is may have been due to some other factor that day. Oxycodone is oxycodone, no matter how you put it. Factors such as what you else you have consumed that day, may play a role in the duration of action. Potentiators such as cimetidine (tagamet) and white grapefruit juice may result in a longer duration of action since they delay the amount of time it takes for your liver to break down the drug. If something that effects the liver enzymes was taken, it could be the reason. However, those aren't the only factors.

This to me screams hidden enzyme inhibition but could be the result of lessened tolerance. What else have you consumed in the past few days? Some food or drink (read: grapefruit juice) could be responsible. Tommyboy is on the right track for sure. Until we have more information, there is nothing else to be said.

When I first started with opiates, I would occasionally get a similar effect while smoking pot along with them. Seemed to 'coax' the effects back several hours after I had taken the pills. Doesn't work like that anymore, of course, but I remember it occurring, quite fondly.

It really does sound, as Dexed put it, like hidden enzyme inhibition.

That is exactly what I mean by 'legs' and it is not a problem:), however, I was just curious if there was something strange about the meds. I live in Korea and they're from the hospital, but the results are never orthodox and seem to vary despite 'Potentiators' or other outside influences like exercise or food. I'm not even sure I buy into the 'Potentiators' myth as they have only had slight effects on my highs. Benzo's and alcohol are another story but enzyme inhibitors, Anthihistamines/Anticholinergics, quinine, or tagmet don't seem to change the opiate high for me. Thanks for the responses all, perhaps I can just chalk it up to tolerance, although I thought I was keeping it at bay since supply is so limited out here. It wouldn't be the first time I let it get away from me. Again, appreciate the feedback.
