For the last few days I've been eating basically everything in sight. Today though, I feel hunger pains but nothing is even remotely appealing, even repulsive. I weighed myself this morning weighing in at 139, three lbs lighter than no more than five days ago, even though I had been eating like an animal.
Not sure if this may play a part in it, but yesterday I took 140mgs of vyvanse rather than my daily dose of 70mgs (I had college midterms which is why I took double.). I didn't sleep at all during the night. Tis morning I took probably not even an hour nap. I also took my regular 70mgs of vyvanse after my nap.
And as a side note I haven't been dieting for last two or three weeks.
I'm very confused as to why I'm experiencing this if anyone would be able to help me out.
Thanks

I have a period of around two to three days each month where I can't seem to get full no matter how much I eat - it's very out of character to my usual habits, but I've tracked it down to a certain time within my menstural cycle.

I also have a similar period of time each month where I eat very little and get full extremely quickly.

I put it down to normal behaviors for me, as it happens so consistently. Have you noticed this happening before Kaity? Does it coincide with PMS times?

Only when I used to take dxm everyday or when I would purposely starve...neither of those are the case nowadays though. I am expecting my cycle in about 9 or so days, maybe there is a connection....

when you go to bed at night you're usually ~3pounds heavier than when you wake up in the morning. maybe that's it.

You have been eating a lot, but have you been drinking enough water? Being dehydrated can cause hunger-like pains. SL is also right in that stress can have a big influence on your metabolism (to a more catabolic/breaking things down for energy state). I don't exactly know what mechanism Vyvanse has, but that may have also contributed to the way you felt/are feeling. Stick to your normal dose maybe, trying to learn while hopped up and not getting sleep is usually not very productive anyhow.

Do you have any references to base that statement on? :)
I know you weren't asking me, but get on the scale first thing in the morning and then get on the scale last thing at night. You will be at least three pounds heavier. Well, assuming that you eat and drink halfway normally. ;)

Not the most reputable site, but read the first paragraph. (For a reputable source, use your favorite search engine and look up something to the extent of "weight fluctuations throughout day".)

You also did not ask me, but I took part in a study (if you can call it that...) as to total body weight fluctuations during acute and short term physical demand. Basically, we learned that doing push ups and close order drill under the burning sun makes you sweat, with losses exceeding 2.5Kg in a 12 hour period...even with decent hydration... and ditto, that lost weight was regained after dinner.

new symptom, dont know if its related to last post

Again, I didnt sleep at all last night until about 9 in the morning for like two hours, but my mouth was dry all night and extremely dry all damn day, no matter how much water i keep drinking. wtf. the meds im on are prozac and vyvanse, and i drink half a serving of an energy drink called redline xtra...could it be this or maybe related to my last post? i dislike this. and also i am and have been for a while been experience joint pain all over, feels like i have to crack my joints all the time so im basically cracking everything all day long. so im trying to make a dr. appointment for tomorrow.
any ideas or opinions are very much appreciated
thanks in advance

Doctor appointment is good. Are you running a fever? If your symptoms get much worse you may want to go somewhere sooner, especially if they can't get you in tomorrow. Feeling dehydrated while drinking a bunch of water can also mean that you are not properly filtering/secreting osmotic active substances (like various salt components) through your kidneys, and that your blood is very salty which then sucks the water out of your cells causing you to feel dehydrated despite drinking a bunch of water. This is similar to what happens when drinking too much salt water. Are you urinating regularly? Is your urine different from normal amount, color, or smell wise? This is all conjecture, and without any tests being run it is just a shot in the dark.

If your condition worsens get yourself somewhere where they can treat you ASAP. Better safe than sorry!

Kaity, you are going to be better served by having a professional look at your symptoms in person rather than random posters on a forum trying to diagnose you from a list of symptoms you think are relevant.

Any suggestions are going to be based on educated guesses, and will not help you at all. Please seek professional medical advice and report back if you feel you want to.

I'm going to close this for now - please PM one of the HL mods if and when you have something to add. Best of luck with getting to the bottom of your health concerns!

I went to the doctor yesterday because my strange symptoms have been interfering with my everyday life and i can't afford to fall behind in any area of my life. I told him my odd symptoms and turns out my stomach issues are caused by a peptic ulcer. For everything else though, he ordered some blood tests to check for autoimmune diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, also checking for anemia as well. I was given a Rx for the ulcer, so hopefully that helps.
Does anyone know anything about lupus? as it turns out my sister is going to be tested for lupus very soon as well

I'm glad they are running more tests because your symptoms definitely sound like something else is going on besides an ulcer. It is also good to hear that you are ok, and that your symptoms didn't worsen. I'd be interested to hear what they actually find out. I don't know much more about lupus than what you can find online, but if you need any help understanding what you are reading (terminology/significance of something) I'll try to help out.

^That's a really great offer Shimmer.Fade - in medical situations such as these, the terminology can be the biggest hurdle to understanding what's going on.

Best of luck with the tests Kaity - I really hope it's something minor and treatable. Keep us updated! <3

I got my blood test results back today. The doctor said my ANA levels are elevated and has referred me to a rheumatologist. I've tried to do my own research to the best of my abilities, all I am really finding is information about lupus, narcolepsy and other autoimmune diseases... What does this all mean? What else could elevated ANA levels indicate?
Also, I came across leukemia, and I do seem to have some of the symptoms. If anyone could provide me with any more information about anything I've mentioned, it would be really greatly appreciated...I'm scared and confused :/
Thanks guys
