Storing Marijuana (merged)

On top of it being kept in an airtight container, store it where it's dry and where the temperature is cool/mild.
 
I usually get quaters from dealers wrapped in foil. Seems to stay fresh for ages, but even a plastic bag for a couple weeks is fine.. it will lose it's smell though.
 
glass jar is best because it protects the herb, it wont get all crushed and you wont lose those precious tricomes either. get a freakin mason jar they are cheap. keep it in a cool and DARK place with low humidity...then have a small jar to carry around your smoking needs for the day.

if you must use plastic, use 2 or 3 zippies and keep it in a dry cool dark place and be gentle with it.

ive had bud in mason jars since april and still have great bud, no mold, nothing.
 
Hell, you could even throw in some silica gel/dessicant/oxygen absorbers..

This would probably make your pot too dry. You do want a *little* moisture, just not too much.
 
Combine multiple materials. Example. Triple bag your stash with ziplock quart sized freezer bags, roll it is duct tape, and stick it in a mason jar.

Storing herb itself in a mason jar is bad unless it fills the jar. The idea is to contain the weed with as little air as possible.
 
i like to buy up alot of of good weed when it comes my way, mainly specialty strains like purple haze or northern lights. so what i do is use this little machine i have which will suck all the air out of the plastic bag and seal it. i think they have been advertised on tv before, but let me tell you this thing works the best for long term storage. I just took out some bud that i had in one of those bags from a year ago, and it tastes sooo fresh, just like i bought it.
 
Put it in a glass jar and freeze it. But becareful when you take it out of the freezer...let the jar and the bud warm up to room temperature before opening the lid...otherwise condensation will form on the bud and will damage them.
 
Put it in a Ziploc freezer bag and stick the baggie in a jar, then freeze the bud.

Most pot smokers I know keep their pot in the freezer as a matter of general routine. It keeps everything nice and fresh. :)

I often stick a small piece of lemon or orange zest in there, too.
 
make sure its completely dry put it in a zip lock bag and then bag it again and put it in the freezer.

i always find that stiring buds up once in awhile gets the smell back into it.

i kept a stik just in a doilebag for a cuppel montths and it still smelled yumm. but it was in a dark place without air.
 
storing

do any of you store your weed just in the sandwhich bag or whatever it came in? or do most of you put it into a tubberware container or something of the sort? does it lose any potentcy if it's just kept in the thin sandwhich bag it came in? thanks
 
I ususally keep small amounts like an 1/8 in the baggy because it will be gone in like a week. If I buy in quantity it goes into a tupperware or something else thats air tight.
 
sandwhich bag ^^ me and everyone i know use ziplocks for weed storage...never fails
 
=usually I buy weed by the oz or 1/2 oz , its rare I will buy less. I put a few grams in a small dry box I have (which is just an ols sucretts case) , this is the weed i smoke first, cuz the box works well in drying my weed out when its still fresh. The remainder of my weed I put into an airtight glass jar with a heavy rubber seal , and a clamp on the lid. This keeps my weed fresh, and prevents it from drying too quick. I find if my weed is dried too fast, it tastes more harsh.
