Storing Hash

I've been fortunate enough to get a pretty sizable ammount of hash to myself that I'm going to keep for a long term personal stash. Round my part of the UK hash isn't that common because we love our skunk so much so I'm not an expert on the stuff, though I do absolutley love it whenever I do get hold of it.
So does anyone know how long you can keep hash for before it goes bad/dried up whatever, or does it keep for a pretty long time? What would be a good sort of condition to store it in?

Peace

Keep it in a cool, dark place in an airtight container. Hash loses potency quite quickly; you're looking at a 50% reduction in THC content every 6 months. What kind of hash is it? Lightly pressed hash keeps longer than black hash, as fewer of the trichomes are burst. If it is black hash, you might want to chuck some silica gel in the container to prevent mould. Old hash gets brittle and stale-tasting, and mouldy hash is obviously not desirable.

Cheers for the advice

It isn't black hash and I should ideally get through it before 6 months.
I do love the long lasting value for money that you get with good hashish

I'll be sure to store it well :)

Try and keep it in a large block, approximating a sphere as closely as you can- you want it to have as low a ratio of surface area to mass as possible.

^ yep, and keep it in a airtight container where it wont get knocked around, or it will start falling apart as it dries.

I've had An ounce of hash I've been smoking for over 2 years lol.. I'm down to about 4-5 grams but it has kept amazingly fine in airtight jar.. Still extremely potent IMO and great tasting after 2 years!

^My only concern would be that any water could expand, further breaking down the sturcture of the trichomes and thus increasing the rate of degradation once defrosted. However, if you're only breaking off enough for a couple of days at a time then it should be fine.

Hash holds 5x better than bud IMO in longterm

The hash I have is bubble hash made by ice water extraction

What about storing hash in the freezer? In an airtight container, of course.

People quite often freeze their trim and popcorn bud in the freezer before making bubble hash. In fact, I have a load frozen in ziplock bags at a friend's house right now. It produces excellent bubble hash, so there is no problem as far as I'm concerned.

The reason freezing it is better is because the trichomes become brittle and fall off the leaves/bud when in water, collecting at the bottom for hash making. In the case of freezing trim/popcorn bud before making bubble hash, it gives a purer product with a slightly lower yield than if you were to dry it before making bubble hash with it.

I wrap my hash in tinfoil or bag it up then throw that in a jar that I keep in a dark place.
