Storing dried Psilocybin

Dried psilocybin?
Do you mean the chemical or dried psilocybin containing mushrooms?
The chemical should be kept in the freezer, tryptamines tend to be fairly unstable, but in mushrooms if they are dried they can last a long time.
You can keep them in a freezer as well to allow them to keep for much longer, years even

I mean liberty caps I picked and dried. They grow the other side of our garden wall and I dried them last week. They aren't in a freezer but they are in an airtight container. If they weren't kept in a freezer could they last a year or two?

Thanks for replying.

A year or two would work without refrigeration, more than that and it becomes advisable to do so. Just make sure the container is airtight like you said and add desiccant packets to remove the moisture from the air. Water and oxygen are your enemies and water exists as vapor in the air.

Note that the above recommendations take into consideration how successful most people are at storage i.e. how good they are at protecting the substances from harmful factors. If one is very adept at this and has advanced understanding as well as superior materials like inert gases, you can store most things for decades without degradation (this has been observed with LSD). A glass ampulle is very well sealed but a lot of plastic containers actually aren't. It may seem like they are non-permeable but they are often not.

Sometimes shrooms are called psilocybian as in "of the psilocybin containing kind" but they really aren't synonymous with the actual chemical especially since mushrooms also contain other chems. Just FYI :)
