Opioids Storing Codeine/Promethazine Syrup in the fridge

I poured out an ounce of Codeine/Promethazine syrup in to a cup, but it's not going to be used for a few days.

I put some saran wrap over it and put it in the fridge. Is this OK? Does the cold ruin the syrup's viscosity making it get all clumped up and non-drinkable? Does the cold damage codeine over time?

It's my friend's codeine syrup. I was going to mix it with some 7-Up for him, but he's gonna drink it in a few days instead.
