Stories of psychological effects of DXM

Anyone have any stories about how DXM has changed there outlook in anyway. I've heard someone tell me they took a higher amount and got scared shitless and it effected them negatively afterwards. Any good experiences?

Any effect DXM has had upon my psychological health would have to be positive. Then again, I'm not a daily user so I doubt my case would be typical amongst that crowd. That being said, if you dose too high on DXM, it can absolutely be scary, but any negative psychological effects I would consider psychosomatic. Everybody's different, but with responsible usage DXM is a psychologically neutral substance.

i had a friend that went nuts for a few months after a week long zicam binge. thought he could build a spaceship, called up nasa thinking he could talk them into making him an astronaut even though he doesn't even have a college degree, started getting really condescending towards a lot of people around him because they didn't GET IT like he did... etc.

he's fine now though.

maybe the funniest part was right after he called nasa. he was super manic and was already acting like he was an astronaut. we went to pizza hut because we had barely eaten in days. there was a really nice cadillac parked outside the window. he asked the waitress whose car it was, since the person looked like they were successful. the waitress said "he's a regular here, i think he's a dentist."

the space cadet responded, in all seriousness, as if he was better than that dentist... "yeah, but has he been TO THE MOON?"

i died laughing.

I think DXM has the ability to bring certain conditions to the surface, especially when abused, but I don't think there's any long-term danger that comes from responsible usage. Unfortunately, there are too many irresponsible people out there which can give drugs a bad rap. In the case of your friend acting crazy from week-long use, usually there are underlying issues which prompt the drug abuse, which the DXM can exacerbate. As long as you're psychologically fit, I don't think there's anything to worry about.
