While blazed and cleaning my bong out today, it got me thinking, how do you guys store your pieces when not in use? Do you let it sit uncleaned, rinse the dirty water out or give it a full clean (so it's shining again)?

Because I'm not an everyday smoker anymore, I usually give my bong a quick rinse/clean before putting it away (for up to a month at a time). I can't stand getting a dirty bong out when I treat myself to some cones.

I've only ever had 3 decent glass pieces so I like to look after them. My first was this , which I ended up breaking while cleaning (happened to break the one piece I couldn't easily replace :(), it was 90cm tall and all clear pyrex. My 2nd was a 45cm bubbler with a tar catcher click (the cops confiscated this one :(). My current one is a little 20cm bubbler, small and simple, but I'm not forking out for another nice piece anytime soon.

I clean my bong every day before I smoke & give it a good clean 2-3 times a week. Whatever one I am not using gets cleaned like new & put in my spare room wardrobe. It is disgusting when you pull out a bong & it still has dirty water remnants in it but we have all done it.

I keep all my pipes on the inside of my mattress. Prison style.
I have cut a slit on the side and it's been a lowkey, functional and spacious pocket.
A recommendation for any stoner with something to hide.

My pieces get abused. I will leave them uncleaned, with water still in them while I am away for many weeks, months, and sometimes as long as a year. The same can happen for a piece that I've simply outgrown. When and if I finally get back to them I always make sure to give them a thorough cleaning before use.

I use smell-proof cases I buy at the local smoke shop, and keep them in a shoebox tucked far away in my closet. I also keep my shit cleaned out.

However lately I've just been using apples (they actually work pretty good and are disposable).

My smoking bong I leave sitting on the back of the toilet (only place I can smoke) and I rinse it out after every session which is only once or twice a week. The one that I use daily for vaping I leave sitting at my computer. With this one I change the water every couple days.

i used to keep all my shit clean and put away but once i moved into my own place that stopped happening i leave the same water for a month or more at a time even with daily use i think its just that i have so many different pieces its hard/ annoying to keep up on them. and the fact that i dont have to drain and put them away after every use adds to it

I clean my bong about one a month, when it starts to get brown (the glass). I stay high all day but my tolerance is fairly low so Im not exactly a heavy smoker anymore in that sense. Ive known guys who are so anal about their tubes that they change the water nearly every bowl. Then you have guys like me who only dump their water when it starts to taste/smell funny, maybe a week per change. And the glass is usually browning up a decent amount by then. After about 4 changes its brown and ready for a rinse. I dont see any point in washing your bong unless its real dirty and affecting taste. I dont change it unless its significantly affecting both.

As for normal pieces, I dont fuck with them until they clog with resin or the rare occasion I run out of weed. Ill smoke the resin ball over a couple days if I run out of weed, but Ive had to throw away pipes that were too full. When your resin starts to obstruct hit flow in your pipe, its time to do something about it.

I rinse mine out, chuck into a bag and place it among all my tools in the workshop. The only thing that bugs me is the smell. I wish I can rinse it or store it in something that prevents it from smelling like fresh bitumen every time I open that bag!
