Stopping Valium + h

Hi, I'm an IV opiate user for 3 years now . Been trying to quit a lot lately and took Valium abused Valium for the last 2 months trying to kick opiates over and over and I think I'm addicted physically to Valium . So my question Is, well I got a few questions, first what's valiums real half life ? Cause it says 50-150 hours with the main metabolite being like 200-250 hours ... How many half lives do you need to pass to make progress ? I guess same goes for heroin , what's the half life for it really and how long would I have to wait to make progress ? Meaning if I wait 36-48 hours between a dose as a taper method for opiates that's like 6-8 half lives for h . Anyways for Valium most I was taking was up to 30-40 mgs a day maybe with Xanax And k pin on the side randomly. I managed to go 3 days exactly no benzos no Valium took 5 mg now I feel that's progress but Valium has insane half life so is it really ? Please someone answer any of these questions thank you.

As far as Valium is concenred,its the "best" benzo you quit,since its not even close as powerfull as say Xanax or Flunitrazepam(roofies i think you call them and thats what im taking these last years ),they dont give that great of a kick or high,have long halflife as you said and as long as youre not extremely OCD about it,take it easy and the taper will go smoothly.

Try though not to cut down too much on both the H and the Diazepam at the same time,that will make it harder.Instead,try to lower your opiate tolerance and once you feel comfortable enough with that,start decreasing the benzos as well.

Yous said you managed 3 days without no benzos at all,thats huge man and if you keep it up i have very high hopes that youll succeed.

Okay thanks for replying! I guess my other question is usually how long do you need to stop for with benzos ,specifically Valium , before I can take another dose ? Like is 5 mg every 3 days maybe every other day sometimes maybe Wait 2-3 days take 10-20 mgs one day to be able to not do h that day . Also forgot to mention , I got Clonodine prescribed just 14 pills for opiate withdrawal when I went to hospital for abcess like 3 weeks ago and was wondering if it helps benzo withdrawal cause it sure helped the blood pressure and go to sleep on days without Valium . Even if I shot up good quality h 5 times a day even 6 instead of my usual 2-3 shots a day still have giant pupils and can't sleep so that's benzo withdrawal right? I'm not very experienced with benzo withdrawals , I've had control over benzos for the last 4-5 years abusing them and never allowing dependency because of fear after learning/dealing with opiate wd taught me a lot but now I have that problem and I gotta fix it ! Sorry for all the random spam blabbering

Any more insight would help a ton please guys , update I took 10 mg total in a 4 day period . I hope that's tapering somewhat

If you are still actively using opiates id strongly suggest to quit the benzos(or at leasty seriously cut down on them) now,while you still got the opiate comfort.

Its a huge pain in the ass to try to quit both at the same time,and when i myself try to quit Heroin(like now that im on Bupe) i tend to up the benzo dose(obviously cause i dont have the smack to take the edge off).

If you are indeed still using opies daily,just try to take as little benzos as possible,if you feel you need 10mgs take them but leave them if you can do without.
*Key word is NEED,meaning that take some not because the heroin didnt give you a good enough nod but because you feel really uneasy/anxious/suspect youll have a seizure.

Personally,im on flunitrazepam for some years now as i mentioned before,but this last year my dose was/is 2mgs which is a preety small one and it happened that i missed my daily dose a couple of times due to certain events. (1mg of flunitrazepan=10mgs of Diazepam btw)

I was really scared of what will happen,but actually i was fine(still had heroin though),so dont listen to everything you hear on the internet,people who say its hell are on massive doses and a 5-10mg/day Valium habit will be suprisingly easy to kick(according to my experience at least.)

Thanks bro I've cut down since we talked , in the span of now about to be 6 days the first 3 days took nothing than took 10 mgs 5 and than 5 in 12 hours spread not at once, waited 2 days took 15 mgs at once :/ on day 5 wanted a buzz but coming up on 6 days I've taken a total of 25 mgs I feel that's pretty good and I feel better over all with my normal opi dose it makes me sleepy enough at night I don't need benzos so that's progress. I've always had control over everything except opis benzos I did have control but maybe not as much anymore ...
