Ok, so I'm having surgery today and I've been on subutex 16mgs a day for about 8 months or so, and the doctor who specializes in bupe is convinced that vicodin will work for me after three days but that sounds like bullshit to me. I've been off for a day, how much longer do I need to wait? Is my tolerance too strong for that kind of drug from using so much bupe? Please, don't answer with "get off the subs" or "don't use the vicodin" because I'm doing this for a reason and don't need that kind of advice. I just need to know when and if I should really expect this shit to work the slightest bit.

sure, if you take the vicodin after your surgery you would start to feel it like 3 days after your bupe finally wears off depending on the dose. but 16mgs is a high dose of bupe, so the vicodin might not be that great for pain relief....see what dose of the vicodin works best for you.

the only thing where i can see you getting into problems is when you switch back to the bupe because you will have to wait to go into full WD so it doesnt throw you into WD. Once you induce WD its FAR FAR worse than if you had just gotten sick on your own before you took the bupe.
