Don't think that's entirely true. In roughly 40yrs, 2c-e has killed one person (if the MN OD wasn't also bromoDFLY), 2c-t-7 has killed 3-5 (most also were using MDMA or other drugs as well), 2c-t-2 one, and that's really all the deaths i'm aware of from 2c-x's. That's an amazing safety record.

All this being said i certainly wouldn't recommend handing out doses to all your friends, for various reasons, both legal & ethical, but to say most doses taken by people other than the one who directly procured the substance is inaccurate.

Some people would argue that the best trips are those that find you and are given freely. There is something to be said for the satisfaction of growing your own shrooms, extracting your own mescaline. But is there really a difference between going through the effort of searching for 2c-e online VS being given some by a friend?

I was given 2c-e for free by a friend and fellow bluelighter Fucking awesome trip. My last 2 trips were given to me by friends, the other being LSD. I do say there is a different because my previous LSD experiences came to me through a search like no other. I wanted to find it so bad and once I did, I was having the greatest and some of the most profound times of my life. If I compare all those trips, the most reason one was definately the least fulfilling. It was a great experience, but not as amazing.

i wrote my rep AND my congressman concerning a recent bill intending to ban a list of synthetic cannabinoids and stimulant/empathogen phenethylamine derivatives. i received a response from my representative telling me something along the lines of (paraphrased because the letter is not actually in front of me... it was a physical letter sent to my home address though, and i read it several times... heh):

"...like you, I do not feel that incarceration is the best solution in these matters. However, I feel that decriminalization at the federal level would send the wrong message [emphasis mine]. I will however keep your words in mind when I place my vote on this bill."

who knows though, maybe if enough people write him he might actually get some sense. here's what i wrote (the bill number refers to the senate bill, not the house bill... idk much legalese but you might have to edit that part depending on who you're contacting):

I am writing to you concerning the Dangerous Synthetic Drug Control Act of 2011 (S. 605)) in particular, and the War on Drugs in general.

The prohibition of mind-altering substances has never had the desired effect. When alcohol was under prohibition in the US, alcohol use went down for the first few years and then dramatically INCREASED to a level higher than before prohibition. Alcohol was manufactured illegally and thus was not subject to mandatory quality regulation, and as such alcohol-related deaths increased to a level never before seen in American history. Also, gang-related ("mob" was the term back then) crime and violence also dramatically increased during alcohol prohibition.

The same thing has occurred with drug prohibition. The problem has steadily gotten worse since the War on Drugs started. Drug use has increased. Criminal activity has increased. Fully one fifth of incarcerated individuals in the United States are NON-VIOLENT drug offenders. Meaning their only crime was possession or sale of a controlled substance. This is ridiculous.

There is a war going on in Mexico between competing drug cartels. As of December of last year the casualty count in this war was 30,100. Thirty thousand people have died in this battle. These cartels are not warring over who gets to sell drugs in Mexico--they are warring over who gets to sell their drugs to United States citizens. There is a lot of money to be made selling drugs to US Citizens -- so long as prohibition keeps the demand high. Ending the war on drugs will save more lives than it will ruin, I promise you.

Education, regulation, legalization, and increased treatment will make our country healthy again. All of these tactics work for alcohol--a VERY powerful psychoactive drug. Ending prohibition and treating drug use as a matter of public health will improve the quality of life in the United States.

Please take the first step towards ending the insanity of the War on Drugs -- vote no on Dangerous Synthetic Drug Control Act of 2011 (S. 605)).

all this is going to do... is that it will put all these chems in the hands of a few, which will still be distributed to all... but because of this legislation you are creating a new layer in the black market and significantly increasing the risks of injury or death because these compounds will touch many more hands and possibly be cut, altered, or mis-represented along the way before reaching the user rather than them just purchasing from the vendors...
